Elevator Pitch
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Reader
WC: 2k!!
Warnings: Smut, fingering, semi-public sex/ foreplay, praise kink-ish, some pet names completely ignored Spencer's germophobia to make this work 18+ MINORS DNI
Summary: Getting trapped in an elevator is never fun, but at least the attractive you're sharing the metal box of death with has an interesting idea about how you can pass the time.
A/N: This is just a really quick drabble for @imagining-in-the-margins Meet Cute challenge for this month!! I have an idea for another one that I'll post closer to Halloween too, so look forward to that alongside all the kinktober fics 👀
Check out my masterlist here!
You weren't planning on running late on your very first day on your new team, but here you were. You were scheduled to meet Unit Chief Aaron Hotchner in his office at 9 a.m. sharp, and here you were at 8:57, trapped inside an elevator. At least you weren't alone, but alone with a stranger, and one who seemed to be talkative in the worst way wasn't exactly ideal either.
"Hey, don't panic. There are about 6 elevator-related deaths per year and about 100,000 injuries. I'm pretty confident about those statistics." He said, taking a sip of his coffee as he stood calmly by the door, pressing buttons and waiting for something to happen.
"Oh god, I'm gonna die in here." You whimpered a little bit, falling to your knees and screwing your eyes shut.
"No, I said we're not gonna die. Or its at least very unlikely."
"And I'm supposed to trust you?"
"Yes, I'm very good with numbers. Elevator accidents account for 0.00024% of all elevators in service in the US. There you don't have to panic anymore." Almost punctuating his words, the elevator gave a low groan and fell an inch lower, pushing him off balance and toppling to the floor right next to you.
"That was just unfortunate timing." He said, his breath hitting your face. Your eyes opened again finally, and you noticed that due to his topple, he was way closer than before, face merely inches from your own. Whoever this overconfident stranger was, he was attractive. Distractingly so, as you didn't respond to his sentence the entire time he was there in front of you, words suddenly escaping you as you stared into his dark, wide eyes.
"Mechanical issues are the cause of about 15.3% of elevator incidents. Since we're in Quantico, we can probably rule out foul play, which means that they'll probably have us back up and running in around 27 minutes." Opening his mouth ruined the fantasy for a minute, waking you up to the reality of your situation.
"Did you work an elevator case or something, why do you know so much about this?" You regretted the question as soon as you asked it, as he launched into another speech.
"I read the statistical reports published by the CPSC and the OSHA. It’s really interesting stuff actually, there are-”
“Please don’t take this the wrong way but I need you to shut up. I don’t think I can take any more statistics about my inevitable death by elevator. Can we do something else instead?”
“Like what?”
“I don’t know. Can you… Can you hold my hand?” You felt yourself flush red the second the words left your mouth, and suddenly it was your turn to talk too much. “My mom used to do it when I was scared as a kid, and obviously you’re not my mom, and you don’t even know me, but I thought it could help comfort both of us. Human contact and touch is supposedly comforting in times of distress so I just thought…” He cut you off by silently grabbing your hand and settling into a seated position beside you and you sent a little prayer up to god to spare both your soul and your heart.
Because Jesus Christ it was beating hard now.
“Oxytocin,” he said and you looked up at him with a questioning look. “Oxytocin is released when you come into contact with other people, it’s the reason newborn babies benefit from skin-to-skin contact and why humans enjoy petting domestic animals so much. And the whole sex to destress thing.” He nodded and looked away, but you could have sworn the oxygen was completely sucked out of the room when he mentioned sex.
“Sex?” He turned to you as you said the word, as if processing the conversation you were in the middle of it.
“Yeah, never heard of it?” You rolled your eyes and squeezed his hand in your own for a second, but his body was leaning closer into yours now, his entire attention on you, as if he expected you to answer the question.
“Of course I have.”
“And what do you think? Can it help you de-stress?”
Your mouth moves before you can stop it. “Can we stop talking about this please, I’m already scared, I don’t need to be scared and horny.” You close your eyes and groan as his widen again, and suddenly you’re praying again, but this time you wouldn’t really mind if you became one of those six elevator malfunction deaths.
“I don’t know, maybe it would help you. There are some studies that show that stress can have aphrodisiacal impacts in women, you know?” His voice was light, but your entire body stiffened as you looked into his eyes, trying to gauge what this stranger was offering.
“So what, you’re suggesting I just get more and more turned on until I’m not worried about death?”
“No, I’m suggesting I close the gap between us and distract you for a while.” You spared a glance down to his lips then, his tongue darting out to lick them and pulling you in closer. You nodded quickly, a small movement and he pushed his lips down into yours.
He was soft at first, and you almost felt like pulling away and scalding yourself for engaging in risky behavior during a near-death experience. But just as you moved to pull away, his hand came up to your hair and you melted right back into him, the kiss deepening as you slanted your neck up to give up more of yourself to him.
You barely feel his hands pulling you into his lap, but you’re suddenly there and so happy you are. Your free hand wanders up to his chest as he squeezes your connected digits again, sending your heart into a fit of palpitations. In a panic you pull away, groaning a little as you can feel his not stiff member poking between your legs.
“Sorry, I don’t think we exchanged names. I’m Y/N. Y/N Y/L/N..”
“Nice to meet you, Y/N.” His lips fall down to your neck as he whispers the words into your skin, and you let your head fall back as his hands untangle from you and fall to your hips, encouraging your movements as you begin grinding over him.
“And you said we had twenty-seven minutes before we’re free, right?”
“Whose the one talking too much now?” He bit into your neck sharply then, and you moaned out, battling the urge to let him take you there on the elevator floor. From it’s perch on your hip, his hand slips down and pops the button in your pants, pushing inside and finally touching you through your panties.
“That’s it, good girl, just keep grinding down on me.” Unconsciously, you press your hips into his hands, the pressure leaving you letting out a whistful sigh of relief.
“God,… Should we be doing this here?” Your words were unsure, but your movements weren’t as you pushed yourself into him again and again, desperate to feel more of him as he rubbed circles into your clit, driving you closer and closer to your peak.
“Let’s assume for now that the elevator malfunction has wiped out the CCTV,” he says, lips pressing against your skin as you lose yourself in his touch again. “We absolutely should be doing this.”
His words fell straight to your core, and you felt yourself grow more aroused as you pondered being caught in such an intimate position with a stranger.
“You think you can cum right here, baby? Think you can give me one soon?” His words almost sent you over the edge, his smile widening as your hips twitched over his.
“Fuck, yes, yes, please, don’t stop.”
“Not so scared about this elevator anymore are you? Or did you want to spend your last moments coming undone in my hands?” With his words, you lost the ability to speak, simply moaning out your agreement to his every word.
“I think I can hear someone talking through the walls, baby, you’re going to have to cum now for me, can you do that?” You nodded to him as he increased his pace on your words, and within seconds, you were letting it all out, head falling against his shoulder as you twitched through your orgasm. He pulled his hands out of your pants quickly and pressed a kiss to your lips, pulling you up to a standing position and making you look presentable as the doors to the elevator were finally pried open from the other side.
“Hey, how are you guys holding up in there?” The call came from the maintenance staff, and you were sudden;y thankful that he’d finished you off when he did because as horny as you’d been, actually getting caught like that was something entirely different than the fantasy of it.
You’re almost sorry that you have to leave when you do, suddenly absolutely involved in helping him “destress” the same way he’d helped you out. But he removes his hands from you and strikes up a conversation with the maintenance staff working to get your elevator level with the floor doors. You gravitate to the back of the stall, gripping the railing while your brain catches up to the circumstances.
In no time, the elevator is back in working order, and you and your stranger are stepping foot on steady ground again, and saying your goodbyes.
“Aaron Hotchner’s office is through those doors. Up the stairs to the left.” He smiles and nods at you before turning down the corridor and leaving you there by yourself. A glance at your clock tells you you’re too late to question his words, and how he even knew where you were going. You take off down the hall, ready to profusely apologize to your new boss and pledge to take the stairs for the rest of your days.
When Hotch finally greets you, he has already heard about the elevator malfunction, and all is thankfully forgiven. You have to bite your tongue before asking if everyone on this floor is psychic. But you’re still late, and you have a case, so your introductions have to take place in the briefing room and you half-run, half-walk behind the older man as he makes his way down the hall.
“Everyone we have a new team member today, please help her out for this first one and show her the ropes.” He introduces you by name, and you’re suddenly doing your best to memorize the names of a Prentiss, a Rossi, a Morgan, a JJ, and one Penelope Garcia. They seem to be waiting for someone else, but with the clock ticking, Penelope begins debriefing you on the next case.
“Sorry I’m late,” a voice calls from the door, and you feel the hairs on your neck stand up in shock as everyone slowly turns to greet the newcomer.
“What time do you call this?” Morgan laughs as the familiar man approaches, and a quick glance around tells you that the only seat left at the table, which had been so obviously reserved by the pile of paper files in contrast to everyone else's digital alternatives, was right next to you.
“Spencer, we have a new team member, this is Y/N. She’ll be joining us on cases from today onwards.” Hotch quickly says, and you lock eyes with the man just as he falls into his seat.
“I think we’re acquainted. Nice to meet you, Y/N. I’m Spencer Reid.” The room falls silent as he holds out his hand for you to shake, and you do your best to not show your shock and embarrassment on your face. You let your hand fall into his, the same one that you’d held earlier, the same one that had worked you up to the edge and then helped you pour over it, the same one that had pulled you together afterward. You said nothing after you’d finally pulled apart, waiting for him to make the next move once again.
“I look forward to working with you.”

The Storm Of Life Chapter 3
Pairing: Tyler/F.Reader
Warnings: None.
Chapter 1 Chapter 2
Chapter 3
A loud clash of thunder startled you awake, lighting lit up the room. “MOMMY!” the kids starting screaming for you from the other room. “I am coming.” you sighed, standing up. You had a headache and your stomach felt like it was doing somersaults. You felt like you were burning up, yet a chill ran down your spin. Great, you thought. Now I am sick on top of everything else.
“Hey guys, it's okay.” you open the door to the children's room, turning your head as you coughed. “Mommy is here.”
“I am scared.” Harley was crying and hugging her teddy bear.
“Is a tornado coming to destroy this house too?” Billy asked, tears streaming down his face.
Thunder boomed outside again and lighting struck something nearby, shaking the house with a boom. The nightlight in the room went out and the kids screamed. You started to tremble with fear. Was there a tornado out there?
“Hey, everything okay?” Tyler came up behind you, placing a hand on your shoulder as he shone a flashlight around the room.
“We're scared.” Billy cried, “Is a tornado coming?”
“No, this is just a thunderstorm, buddy.” Tyler reassured the child. “No tornadoes tonight. If there was one, we would go into a place called a storm cellar that's connected to the house and we'd be safe in there. This is nothing more then thunder and lighting.”
“Excuse me.” you take off running for the bathroom, feeling your stomach getting sick. You stumbled in the hallway before finally making it to the bathroom fumbled around to the toilet. It was so dark you could hardly see anything.
“You guys stay right here. I am only going across the hall to help your mama, okay?” Tyler said.
The kids nodded and huddled under their blankets.
“You okay?” Tyler asked, shinning the light into the bathroom.
You were sitting on the floor, head hung over the toilet as your stomach emptied it's self of everything you ate or drank in the last several hours.
Tyler got a wash cloth from the closet and ran it under cool water. “Here. This might help.” he said bringing it over to you and brushing a strand of hair away from your face.
“Thanks.” your voice was barely a whisper as you took deep breaths and held the cool clothe to your face, trying to get your stomach to settle down.
“Not a problem.” he responded, resting a hand on your shoulder for a moment.
Finally, you decide your stomach was over with being sick and you stood with the help of Tyler supporting your arm and dropped the wash clothe in the hamper.
“Come on, I'll make sure you get back to your room okay.” Tyler said softly, shinning the flashlight in front of you to light up the hall.
“No, I gotta go back with the kids. They're terrified of storms.” you turn to head towards the kids room.
“Let me sit up with them, as long as they are okay with it. You should be in bed resting.”
You shake your head, “I couldn't ask you to do that. I am not even sure they will be okay with a stranger.” you glance at him, “Well a new friend at least. They just met you today. It takes a lot for me to calm them down in storms.”
“It's okay. You aren't asking me, I am offering. I don't have any big plans for tomorrow, and you're sick.” he said, “Go back to bed. I'll sit with them for a bit if they want me to.”
You nod and Tyler leads you back into your room, making sure you made it to the bed. As you crawled under the covers once more he turned and left, closing the door halfway behind him.
“Hey guys...how are we doing?” Tyler asked. The storm had seemed to be calming down now and the kids didn't seem so afraid.
“Is it gone?” Harley asked.
“For now. I think there are more coming.” he answered.
“Is mommy okay?” Billy asked.
“Mommy is okay, but she's sick. She went back to bed to lay down so she can feel better.” Tyler explained. “You know how it is to be sick, right?”
Both kids nodded, “I don't like to be sick. I feel yucky.” Harley made a face, sticking out her tongue.
“I just want to lay down when I am sick. I don't feel good when I am sick.” Billy added.
“That's right.” Tyler shook his head, “And that's how your mama is feeling right now. How about you guys come down stairs with me and we'll get your mommy some medicine and water to help her feel better, then I'll sit in here with you until all the storms are gone. Will that be okay?”
“You chase storms, right?” Billy asked.
Tyler nodded, “That's right. Sometimes I do.”
“Do you know when there is a tornado?” he asked.
Tyler nodded, “Normally, yes. We have a very good idea when and where the tornadoes are going to hit. That's why we chase the storms. We try to warn people of the danger before the tornadoes come and we help them after the storm.”
“Are there tornadoes coming this way tonight?” Billy asked.
“No, buddy. No tornadoes tonight. I promise. Only thunder and lighting and lots of rain.”
“It's still scary.” Harley added.
“I know.” Tyler went over and gave the little girl a hug, “That's why I am going to stay in here with you after we get your mommy some medicine. I'll stay up and watch the storms to make sure there's no tornadoes or anything bad in them. I used to be scared of storms too, you know that?”
“Really?” Billy asked, “What did you do?”
“Well, come on downstairs with me and I'll tell you while I get some stuff for your mommy.” Tyler picked up Harley and extended a hand for Billy to hold. “Billy, you can be in charge of the flashlight if you want.”
“Cool!” Billy was happy to hold the flashlight and light the way down the stairs as Tyler continued talking. “Now, when I was little like you and scared of storms, my mama would build a little bed out of blankets and pillows and we'd snuggle down and play games, or tell stories, or even sing songs. Sometimes, we'd have milk and cookies for a snack.”
“I want milk and cookies.” Harley whined, laying her head on Tyler's shoulder as he carried her into the kitchen. He sat her down in a chair and Billy climbed up in a chair next to her.
“Alright guys. I am going to fix you some milk and cookies, but you can't tell your mommy about this, okay?”
They nodded as Tyler took down three glasses, filling two of them with milk and setting them down in front of the kids. He got two cookies from the cookie jar and placed them down.
“Can we sing songs and tell stories tonight?” Billy asked in between bites of his cookie.
“Sure buddy.” Tyler agreed, fixing a glass of water for you and getting some medicine for fever and upset stomach. “We'll make a little area of blankets and pillows and we will sing songs and tell stories until you guys are ready to go back to sleep.”
“Yay!” the kids cheered.
Thunder rolled again and instantly, their smiles faded and they got a look of fear.
“It's okay, just another storm rolling in.” Tyler assured them as they finished their cookies and milk. He put their glasses in the dishwasher and then picked up your medicine and water. “Billy, do you want to lead the way again?”
Billy nodded, holding the flashlight and leading the way up the stairs and to your mom.
You hear the door open and turn to look, “Hey, I got you some medicine for your stomach and fever.” Tyler said softly, setting the water on the nightstand and handing you two pills.
“Thanks, you didn't have to.” You sat up and gave him a smile, then looked at the kids, “What are you two doing out of bed?”
“Helping Mr. Tyler.” Billy grinned.
“And we had cookies and milk!” Harley added.
“Hey! That was suppose to be a secret! You gonna get me in trouble!” Tyler grinned then turned to you, “I kept them with me so they didn't get scared. I am going to sit with them until the storms are gone. Sounds like another one is rolling in.”
“We are going to sing songs and tell stories!” Billy added.
“Thank you.” You give a soft smile to Tyler and look over at your two kids, “You two be good for Mr. Tyler, understood?”
“Yes mommy.” they both say in union.
“Okay, guys. Ready to go make a cozy area out of your blankets and pillows?” he asked.
“YAY!” The kids cheer and each grab one of his hands and pull him out of the room.
“If you need anything, let me know.” Tyler called to you as the kids pull him down the hallway and you smile.
The kids eagerly grabbed the blankets and pillows from their bed, and Harley grabbed her favorite bear, Lulu. Tyler helped them set up a seating area in the corner far away from the window and then sat down and both kids climbed up in his lap.
“Alright, do we want a song or a story first?” he asked.
“I like the Mowana song!” Harley said.
Thinking for a moment, Tyler remembered a song from the movie. He enjoyed the Disney movies, but he didn't tell anyone else that. In a way, he was still just a kid himself. As his mama kept telling him...he never grew up.
Tyler leaned back against the wall and wrapped each kid in their blanket, then began to sing.
Every turn I take
Every trail I track
Every path I make
Every road leads back to the place I know
Where I cannot go
Where I long to be
As Tyler sang, his mind wandered. This is what he had always wanted, but could never find. This was where he could not go, but longed to be. Being with you today and being with the kids made him realize what he had been missing all these years. Horseback riding with kids in tow, watching them pick wildflowers for their mama, shopping for the kids, and now...being the protector during a storm. This was what he wanted, but could never seem to have. He dated a lot, but nothing ever really got serious. A family of his own was what he really was searching for all this time, but just could never find. 'Maybe someday.' he thought to himself with a sad smile. For now, this was enough. This felt like home. This felt like exactly where his heart wanted to be.

I hope you will still enjoy this! ✨🤍 also, your girl is running on 3h of sleep so if there are mistakes, forgive me... I'll fix them when my brain is once again plugged to the internet.🙃
warning: kids, past trauma, substance use... low key seems too little of a list but nothing else comes to mind
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Axel's been desperate for a couple of days now. He had managed to lift off the ground and do a couple of flaps with his wings at the start of the week. The excitement on his face when Azriel carried him back home was unmatched. Unlike anything you had seen before. He was glowing. Radiant. So deeply loved, and it showed. The boy had rambled about it throughout the whole dinner. But Azriel hadn't denied his excitement even once, a proud smile on his face as he let the boy babble on and on.
It felt easy. It was so easy to be there. In Azriel's apartment. To wake up next to him. To watch him come home after a long day. Fetch the kids for classes. Not to mention that his place was ever-shifting. After the first night on his mattress, which was rung by the furthest of walls, Azriel had shown up with Cassian the very next day. Boxes in hand, they got to work putting together the biggest bed frame you had ever seen. He covered the knives stand with some sort of spell. They were there still, a big part of him, but the kids could not reach them. His way of baby-proofing the space. Slowly morphing it into something that suited everyone's needs.
"Lift up and do ten flaps", Azriel's voice floated through the field. The day was beautiful. The sun was out. Warm rays of sunshine kissed the skin. You and Zofie were sitting on a big knitted blanket. The little girl beside you was threading flower crowns. Her tiny tongue was slightly out as she concentrated on her very serious task.
"I can do more", Axel urged. He was standing next to Azriel. His tiny Illyrian leathers clad his skin. His safety armor. A tiny little piece of comfort that the spymaster had gifted to him. Azriel shook his head as he smiled, "Start with ten, then we will see". You could tell that Azriel had also found comfort in teaching Axel. A second chance at a glimpse of a happy childhood. With him and only him in the center of someone's happiness.
For a moment, there was only a warm breeze humming through the field. You watched how Axel got into a position. His determined face faltered, and his eyes darted back up at Azriel. "You will catch me, right?", here it was, that same bitter fear of failing. Of not trusting himself. But Azriel didn't let it settle in as he kneeled next to the boy, "You won't need my help, but if you do, I will be right by your side". Axel's big, golden eyes blinked at Azriel.
"And if I don't make it...", the boy doesn't finish the sentence, but the premise of it is clear. Will you be disappointed? Laugh? Give up on me? Azriel cupped the Axel's cheeks between his scared palms. "Look at me", the spymaster muttered, "You will do it. I know you will. You have to believe in yourself". They looked at each other for a moment before Axel quickly nodded his head, "Okay. I've got this", the boy muttered, Azriel quickly ruffled his hair, "Hell yeah, you do!".
Axel found your eyes across the field. You smiled at him, nodding your head. He could do it, and you did not doubt it. The boy nodded his head one more. A deep breath in. And within seconds, his tiny frame shot up. Axel faltered ever so slightly. Gravity pulling him down. But with one determined flap after another, he managed to stay up above. "Look at me", he beamed from the sky, the wind dancing in his onyx hair. "Y/n! Zo!", he shouted. The girl beside you let out a gasp. Scrambling to her feet as she ran through the flower field to get closer to her brother, "Axel!", she squealed happily. "Good job, honey!", you called right after her, your hand on your chest as you tried to suppress your emotions. One beat after another. Just his energy strained as fast as it was mustard. And the boy slowly sank back down. But the smile on his face didn't seem to shrink.
"Did you see it?", Axel looked across all three of you, breathing heavily. "We did, my love", you beamed at him, leaning closer to kiss his sweaty forehead. "I flew like all of the Illyrians", the boy taped at his leathers proudly, his eyes darting up at Azriel, whose smile was just as big. "I'm so proud of you", Azriel said. "Thank you, pa-Azzy", Axel stuttered, his big eyes suddenly laced with worry, but Azriel only scooped him up in his arms, seating Axel on his shoulder, "You got it, bud".
The kids were far from, content afterward. Too much excitement rushing through their tiny bodies, and now that they were painfully aware that they had Azriel wrapped around their fingers, within a couple of hours you were back in the city, for none other than street pancakes. "You didn't have to say yes", you muttered to Azriel as you two trailed behind the two overly excited younglings. "Why, not?", he said straight away as if tending to their needs had already become second nature for him. "Well, I'm sure you have meetings or people to scare", you shrugged, making Azriel chuckle slightly. The expression easy to miss because his colder mask was back on. What you didn't miss was how some people looked at him. At you all. The emotions were hard to pinpoint, but it was clear evidence that one didn't find the spymaster of the night court casually walking through Velaris streets.
"Look, it's the fountain", the two little monsters came tumbling back, pulling at the skirts of your dress, tiny fingers pointing toward the water fairies. "Now, what did I say about pointing fingers, huh?", you huffed, and the two of them dropped their hands. Quick apologies swirled around, but the pulling didn't ease. Azriel took a heartbeat to look at you three. The way a laugh slipped past your lips as one of the fairy bopped Axel's face making the boy jump back slightly. All courtwork aside, the past couple of weeks have left Azriel feeling weightless. No burdens. No worries. And if something managed to cling to him after a long day, it would all melt away the moment he stepped through his apartment door, hearing your voices and laughter. It felt so good to finally have something that belonged just to him. And it wasn't that territorial fea-male thing. Well, yes, it was, but there was so much more. Azriel finally felt like he had a purpose. His bland days were finally filled with more color. He loved being able to take Zofie to her dance classes. Fetch Axel for training with Cassian. To come home and find you smiling at him. To kiss you softly.
"Can I get two?", Zofie's voice filled Azriel's senses, and his head instantly turned towards the pancake stand. An old lady was already smiling as she looked down at the kids trying to pick their orders. "You won't be able to finish them both, bug," you said as you brushed your fingers through Zofie's hair. "But I can't pick between jam and chocolate", she pouted. Azriel stepped closer, earning a slight bow from the owner, that he quickly returned with a nod.
"Azzy, you pick", Zofie quickly moved towards the spymaster, cleverly making grabby hands at him so that once the order was made, she would be able to see how they were made because, not like Axel, she couldn't see over the stand. "I would like apple crumble, please", Axel said, fingers twirling with the material of your skirt. "And jam and chocolate", Azriel followed suit. You shot him a look, but he was already too occupied by how Zofie was beaming in his arms.
"Add it to my account too", Azriel said firmly, and you shook your head. "Nonsense, let me pay for it", you reached for the satchel fastened to your corset. But Azriel softly took hold of your hand, lacing his fingers through yours. "Don't fight me on this, love", he simply muttered. And stop frowning; it doesn't suit you. Azriel's smug voice filled your mind, making you let out a huff. You're too full of yourself; let me pay for something. You muttered back, but Azriel only smirked. You are paying; it's our shared account. A breath hitched in your throat. A shared account? But only members of the inner circle shared accounts with their partners. And you... you blinked a couple of times. Had Azriel set his claim over you to Rhys? You're not an object. Azriel's velvety voice rang out once more.
You were about to answer him a gasp left Axel's lips, soon followed by Zofie. "Grammy", the two of them said in unison. Cordelia had just set her bags down as the two swarmed her. Jumping. Giggling. "My gorgeous bunch", the woman said, cradling them both in her arms, "I swear you two have grown an inch since I last saw you". They both beamed at her, pancakes long forgotten. Azriel's shadows made quick work of his mother's bags. Tiny little clouds got to work immediately as they moved to carry them back to her house.
"Azriel, Y/N", Cordelia said, turning to you both as you finally approached her hands full of food. "What are we celebrating?", the elderly woman asked. "Grammy, I flew. Azriel took me to the field. I was up in the sky", Axel said excitedly, and your eyes instantly filled up with tears, making you blink quickly. "Oh, sweet boy", Cordelia cupped Axel's cheek, "That's wonderful. Soon, you'll outmatch my Azriel. But don't tell him I told you so". The boy giggled sheepishly, catching a glimpse of Azriel, but his calm expectation didn't change.
"Why don't you two leave them with me", Cordelia said after a moment, "I'm heading home anyway". The kids instantly stepped towards her as if they didn't care for what any of you had to say. "No, ma'am, that...", "Cordelia, darling", Azriel's mom corrected you instantly. "You must be tired, and...", you tried again, only to be met with another smile, "Nonsense, these two are angels. Plus", she muttered, "When was the last time you two spent time alone?". Never. The answer was never. And the fact that the answers sank on you so quickly said it all. You and Azriel had never truly been alone. Had never been on a date.
"Exactly", Cordelia stated proudly. "I'm looking after my grandchildren, and if I see any of you at my doorstep before tomorrow evening", she narrowed her eyes, "Let's say you don't want to know what will happen". Azriel let out a laugh, shaking his head at his mother. "Thank you", he muttered. Cordelia simply leaned in to kiss her son's cheek before she squeezed your shoulder. "Have fun", she winked, turning towards the kids, already pointing them towards another stand.
"Do you want some more?", Azriel lifted the halfway-empty bottle, but you shook your head, "I still have some, thank you". Oddly enough, it felt strange to spend time with Azriel like this. No rush. No need to go places. No kids to look after. No serious worries. Just you two. A quiet apartment and a long night that was still ahead of you two. You shifted, brushing your hand through your hair.
"This feels strange in a way", Azriel breathed out, running his hand over his face, "I mean, I don't want you to feel like...", he was quick to point out, but you rested your hand on his thigh, "We're not used to being together like this". The shadowsinger nodded his head before he leaned back into the sofa, putting his glass on the tiny table that was set on the side. His arms reached forward, pulling at your hand. A chuckle slipped past your lips as Azriel tugged you closer to his chest. "What are you doing?", you breathed, still smiling. "Something I should have done at the start of the evening", Azriel mused, letting out a satisfied hum now that you were pressed against his chest.
Silence filled the room. You let yourself listen to the way Azriel's heart was drumming right beneath your ear. Warmth spread through your body. This, without a doubt, was how peace felt. "Should we play a game?", Azriel spoke up, finally making you lift your head from his chest. "A game?", you frowned slightly, pulling away. "Yeah, like, get to know each other game", Azriel breathed out, a slight pink tint brushing his cheeks. You let out a chuckle. "Okay, I am...", you breathed out, "Are Rhys and Cass your biological brothers?", "Straight at it...", Azriel let out a surprised breath, and worry instantly washed over you. "Was I not supposed to?", your big eyes looked at him. "No, no, it's okay; I like that you're taking the lead", Azriel reassured you wiggling his brows making you rill your eyes in return. You two moved to sit opposite each other. Your legs were tucked beneath you, but Azriel's hand still stayed on your thigh.
"And to answer your question, they are not", he said smoothly. "We meet in the camp. Rhys's mother pulled us under her wing; the rest is history but they feel like blood brothers". You found yourself nodding; you knew that they were in training together. Most people called them the inseparable three for a reason. The loved they shared always made you smile. It was rare. Especially between territorial Illyrian males. "Your mother was from Helion's court," Azriel stated, claiming his turn, "You've ever thought about going there?". You took a moment to let his words sink in. Rhys had brought that up a couple of times, but the idea of going to a place you knew nothing about to meet people you knew nothing about. "No...", you breathed out. "I mean, it'll sound bad, but Helion keeps his angels under tight wraps." Pulling the strand of your hair, you quickly twirled it around your fingers, "If he had use for me, he would have claimed me by now". A rumble left Azriel's chest, "No one can claim you; you make your own choices". His voice was thick with frustration. The thought, clearly, unsettled him. You reached for his hand once more, "Azriel, I know, hence why I said it would sound bad". But the frown between his brows didn't ease until your fingers carefully brushed over his skin.
You weighed your next question for a heartbeat before muttering, "Your hands, can you tell me the real story?", you watched as Azriel's face shifted with emotion. The man was almost a myth. The amount of stories told about him could easily be turned into a book but... most of them seemed so far fetched. For a heartbeat, you even regretted your question, but then Azriel let out a sigh. "You know about the basement...", the spymaster clenched his palms together. "This was one of their games", you shifted slightly, reaching for his hands as you clasped them in yours. Azriel's eyes lingered on your joined palms. "One night they wanted to test how quickly I would heal. So they dunked my hands in oil and set them on fire", his words sounded cold and distant. But then how else would you talk about the trauma that shifted your life. You bit the inside of your cheek as you leaned closer to him. But before you could fully rest against him, you pulled his hands up to your mouth, placing kiss after kiss on the scared surface. He didn't stop you. Didn't pull away. Soaking in the warmth of you. The tender touch.
But your movements stalled at his next words, "Your back", Azriel muttered. You let go of him instantly, drawing back, "What of it?", you asked, even if you knew more than well what he was asking for. In a way, your scars linked you both together. But you've worked your hardest to keep that side of you hidden from everyone. Even yourself. You let your head drop slightly, and Azriel's fingers instantly hooked beneath your chin. If there was something this man was against, it was you feeling small when you were with him.
"You don't have to", he breathed out, his gorgeous hazel eyes piercing through you. Eyes that had captured your soul the very same night you two had come for one another's throats in his room. You chose to swallow your words, turning away from him. Suddenly, your dress felt way too tight on your body. Azriel took that as a sign to drop the topic, ready to apologize when you muttered, "Undo the ribbon". Azriel swallowed thickly. Hesitation stilled his movements. But his trembling fingers still reached for the light blue material. Goosebumps trickled down your spine instantly.
Azriel could see the way your shoulders tensed the looser the fabric got around your chest. Leaning in, he placed a couple of loving kisses on your shoulder blades. He hesitated before letting the fabric fall off your skin, your hand instantly moving to cover your breasts in front. But Azriel was too far captured by the brutal slashes that even now shined red and black against your skin. The angel wings you had didn't start at the same spot where Illyrian wings rooted, which explained why the spymaster didn't catch a glimpse of them while you were in nothing but your silk nightgown.
"I hoped I could heal myself...", you muttered quietly, biting your lip. Azriel's eye snapped back up, and he instantly brought your trembling frame into his chest. Mother, strike him for letting himself gawk like that. He knew what being stared at like that felt like. The scrutiny. The pity. Blimey, his own family still shot him glances like that, and here he was. His strong arms cocooned your frame before he realized the lack of clothes covering your chest. Azriel's cheeks pinked, even if he couldn't see anything that he hadn't already seen. He moved to lift the fabric, but you stopped him, motioning for him to let you go. He got his clue here—you didn't want him watching, so his head wiped to a completely different side.
"I've never been with a male", you muttered after a heartbeat. Azriel's body froze once more. Something deep and territorial, way stronger than before, scratched at his chest. "Was I your first...", his words were barely a whisper, as you chased them away. "Everything so far...", you breathed out. Was admitting this to him awkward? Yes. But he was your mate. Surely, he would realize that eventually. Azriel turned back to face you. Realizing that he probably should have asked if he could turn around in the first place. But he found your shy eyes looking up at him. He reached for you once more. Pulling you over his lap, his hand resting on your hip.
"Thank you for sharing that", he breathed against your neck, brushing tiny feather-like kisses all over your collarbones. The tickling sensation made you giggle slightly before a frown washed over you once more. "I understand if it's not attractive", you breathed out, and Azriel halted in his movements, pulling back to meet your eyes. "Love, I'm more than okay with waiting till you're ready", he reassured you as he brushed his thumb over your cheek. "But that's... you have needs", you whispered, catching his wrist. Azriel let out a breathy chuckle, scanning your face before he leaned in to peck your lips. "I am no longer a teenager who gets a hard-on from any moving thing in front of him, but thank you for your concern, love", he said, utterly satisfied with his answer. "Ew, Azriel", you cackled, hitting his chest playfully. The spymaster's laugh matched yours in no time as he pulled you down on the plush sofa, nestling you deeper into his embrace.
You had hoped to wake up in Azriel's arms the next morning. The intimacy of last night's confessions still lingered. But once the slumber left your body, you quickly realized that the bed felt way too cold. A pang ached in your chest, but you knew that he was a busy man. A note you found in the kitchen proved just that. An urgent meeting. I hate that I had to leave you like that. I will see you in the evening, Az. You brushed your fingers over the paper, turning your attention to the bond, smothering it with soft touches, only to be met with a cold wall. You frowned slightly. But then, he always shut it off when he was out on duty. You knew that if something was seriously bad, he would answer. But nothing was seriously bad and you weren't about to become a needy partner. Brushing the nagging thoughts away, you smiled to yourself. No, nothing was going to ruin the plan you had for tonight.
And it started out so perfectly. From the way you had allowed yourself to explore the city. Wondering from one shop to another. Everyone greeted you with a smile. The streets were humming even in the early morning. All the smells and sounds fill your senses. You tested cheese from a local farmer's stand, listening to the stories about the sheep that he owned. You had forgotten what it felt like to live like this. Now fully understanding why Zofie and Axel loved it here so much. The white, quiet walls of the sanctuary felt more like a prison than a happy home when you compared it to the city.
Your arm was aching from the bag you were carrying, but it didn't seem to bother you today. Your eyes caught the stand full of freshly cut flowers. Like a little bee on a hunt for nectar, you turned its way. The lady greeted you with a wave. She, like the man before, shared her passion for the blooms before wrapping a big bouquet of peonies in paper. The smell of them made your lips taste sweet. But the moment her hands brushed yours, you felt a tight grip on your arms. Dark eyes looked at you. Sharp venomous teeth gleamed, "Silly child, he is not your happy ever after. You're burning in flames of pain for your mistakes", the thick words sounded, making you draw away, nearly dropping all of your stuff. You bumped into someone, pulling your eyes away from the lady, and when you finally blinked, a man was holding onto your shoulders. Steadying you. "Are you alright, dear?", the female called out to you, making you take a double look at both of them. "Yeah", you muttered, feeling your cheeks heating up. "I'm so sorry, I just got dizzy from all the smells", you breathed out, quickly taking hold of your things and hurrying away.
You hoped the feeling of unease would lessen eventually. That the image of that monstrous face would fade. But it stuck around. Sending shivers down your back all day long. The same way it did up at the house of wind. You had felt slightly better at Cordelia's house, where you stopped to get the kids, but the moment you crossed Azriel's apartment's entrance, it clasped right over your throat once more. "Do I put this in?", Axel called out, making you draw your attention back to the two kids. A pot of stew was bubbling on the stove. You pressed a palm against your temple, an odd throb aching there.
"Yes, sweetie, give it a mix too", the two of them had been desperate to make Azriel's mother's stew. Cordelia had cooked with them a couple of times, and now they had taken it upon themselves to show what they had learned. "I need help", Zofie muttered, pulling at your sleeve. She had been tasked with pulling some of the herbs from the stems and dicing them. Yet your body didn't seem to comprehend the request. Axel turned to her instead. "Show me", he said, but you could feel his eyes on you. Both of their eyes are on you.
"Y/N", Axel called out softly, "Is everything okay?" The real answer to that would be that you didn't know. It was the tightness and numbness in your chest that unsettled you the most. You've never felt like before. As if something was missing all of a sudden. You tried to claw out of the hazy daze, "Yeah, I'm...", but your voice died down to the sound of the knock on the door. Axel jumped off his step stool, but you caught him by his shoulder. "Stay here with Zo", you muttered. Deep down, you hoped that it was Azriel or someone from the family, but then Azriel wouldn't knock. He never did.
You cracked the door open as if you already didn't feel confused enough. There she stood. The prettiest pink dress framed her figure. Loose curls fell over her shoulders. Elain. You braced yourself against the doorframe. Mother, don't let this be what you thought it was. "Oh", the female gasped lightly. "I...", she stuttered, suddenly growing fidgety. "How can I help you?", you breathed out, trying to keep your racing mind at bay. "Azriel said we would meet here; that usually means alone", her tone was sweet, but every word sent daggers flying straight into your heart. Silly child, he is not your happy ever after. The voice echoed in your mind. You blinked rapidly, frown marking your features. For a moment, it seemed as if something flashed through Elain's eyes before she mustered a forced smile back on her lips.
"I apologize for interrupting", Elain turned to walk away but halted quickly as if changing her mind. "Actually", she muttered, "I forgot about a little gift", her voice trembled as she pulled her hand out of the dress pocket, opening her palm to reveal a crystal-clear powder. She blew on it gently, flecks flowing towards you. The same invisible hand clawed at your throat. You tried to gasp for air, but it felt useless. You staggered back, the sound of someone grinding their teeth drilled through your head. A scream echoed through the space as your body hit the floor. Muffled noises rang endlessly. Noises. Screams. Zofie and Axel. The last bits of your rational mind called out. You dug your nails into the floor, turning your body towards the kitchen. Black figures swarmed all around, both of the kids trashing in their grip. You reached your hand towards them, but before you could cry out to them, everything went black.

Sweet Dreams
Hunter/Reader
Fictober 2023 Day 1 of 31
Words: 914
Summary: You get a visitor in your bunk for the night, and Hunter can't help but find it adorable.
Note: happy october everyone! i'll be posting 31 fics for 31 different characters this month!
Clone Troopers Masterlist
The sound of someone whispering your name and the feeling of that same person shaking you awake was the first thing you registered when you opened your eyes. The bunk area of the Marauder was still completely dark, indicating that it was not yet morning, so you were a little confused about the reason you were being woken up at this point.
Blinking your eyes open (and trying to keep them from immediately closing again), you could see the faint outline of someone next to your bed. “You need smmm?” you managed to croak out, voice heavy with sleep. There weren’t too many rules on this ship, but one of the ones that did exist (and was usually well-respected among the squad) was the one about not waking you up, unless there was a serious problem (like fire, death, or ambush).
In the haze of your sleepy state, you could hear Omega’s voice, and as the world came into focus you could see that it was indeed the young girl who had woken you. “What’s wrong?” you asked, immediately snapping awake when you noticed the tearful expression on her face.
“I had a nightmare,” she admitted softly. “And I know you said-”
You reached out to take her hand. “I remember,” you said, shifting so that there was more space next to you in your bunk. “Do you want to lay with me for a while?”
Omega nodded, immediately crawling in next to you. A little bit after she had started traveling with you and the Bad Batch, you had all had a conversation about nightmares. When the other members of the batch had left the area, you had softly offered that if she ever had a nightmare and she wanted some company or wanted to be somewhere else, she had full permission to just crawl into your bunk, whether you were in there or not. At first she had tried to say that your offer wasn’t necessary, but softened when you talked about having nightmares yourself, and the two of you agreed that even big kids could be scared sometimes.
“Do you want to talk about it?” you asked as she got settled next to you, and you wrapped your arm around her once she had gotten comfortable.
“Not really.” Her voice was soft and slightly shaky, and you just smiled as you brought your arm up to run through her hair, the soothing gesture bringing a smile to her face.
“That’s fine,” you whispered. “I’m here if you change your mind, but it’s okay if you just want to stay here too.”
She nodded, and you could see (even in the dark of the ship) that she was growing more and more tired. You brought your blanket up to cover more of her body than it had been before, and the sound of your soft hums guided her to sleep, with you falling back asleep right beside her.
***
As Hunter stared out at the blue streaks of hyperspace passing by, he tried to keep his fatigue at bay. If it were up to him, right now he would be snuggled up in his bunk, fast asleep as someone else took a shift making sure that nothing in the cockpit blew up while they soared between systems. But unfortunately it was his turn to spend half of the night awake, and that dream could not be a reality for another hour or so.
Well, if it was really up to him, he would be snuggled up next to you. While he did not yet have the official title of “boyfriend,” something serious was certainly developing between you and him, and sometimes the two of you shared a bunk (something he secretly hoped happened every night). He didn’t think his brothers knew anything about it, but he wasn’t sure.
By the time Echo stepped into the cockpit to relieve him of his “shift,” Hunter was yawning and could barely find the ability to stay awake. He nodded at his brother in thanks as he got up to head back to the bunks, but as he walked down the hall, he could have sworn that he heard Echo say something about not being able to sleep in his bunk, which he just barely acknowledged before stepping into the room. Suddenly, his brother’s comment made both more sense and less sense (if that even made sense at all).
Hunter’s bunk (as expected) was completely empty, but he finally found the answers to his questions when his head turned to look at your bunk.
Omega was cuddled up next to you, and the two of you had similar expressions of tranquility on your faces. He couldn’t help the smile that crossed his face at the scene, and there was a part of him that wanted to see if he could get into bed as well, to try and wrap his arms around both of you. But he knew (as did Echo, apparently) that he wouldn’t be able to do so without disturbing you, and so Hunter decided to sleep in his own bunk for the night.
As he fell asleep, he tried not to think about the fact that he had apparently not been as secret in his affections as he previously thought, and it was likely that everyone on the ship knew something about his affinity for you.
And of course, he also couldn’t stop thinking about how cute you and Omega looked cuddled up together.

I never wanted this, but maybe it's not such a bad thing (Preath x Reader)
Soulmate Au, requested by anon. This turned out to be really long and it's still not finished so I decided to split it up into 2-3 parts. Hope you enjoy!
If I haven't done your request yet it will be coming. I try to write in order of request, but my brain chooses what I write without my consent and I can't focus on anything else. Perks of ADHD.
Words: 2.7k
---
Soulmates. It was a concept that I had always despised. Why did the universe or whatever you want to call it get to decide who I was meant to spend my life with? I didn't like being told what to do at the best of times, let alone when it came to one of the biggest decisions one might make in life. Apparently when you meet your soulmate a tattoo appeared somewhere on your body of something that represented where or how you first met. I hadn't found my so called soulmate yet and I really didn't care if I did or not. It's not like I would do anything about it anyway.
"Where are you heading in such a hurry?" Ali asked, as I was getting my stuff together. Ash was my older sister, Ali had practically been my sister since they met, I loved her as much as I did Ash. They had let me stay with them after I got out of the marines last year after being injured in a bad wreck, I was struggling to readjust to normal life and move past the wreck. There were a lot of bad dreams and sleepless nights which had me turning to alcohol. Ash had pulled me out of it before it turned from a bad habit to an addiction. She got me into therapy, stopped me from drinking, slept with me every night for over a month until my dreams started to settle down.
"I'm going surfing, tell Ash I'm heading to our spot if she wants to join." I ran out the door, but quickly turned back kissing the kids and Ali's cheek, "Love you all, aunty will see you both soon, be good."
"Be safe, love you. Remember some of the team is coming for lunch, it would be good to meet them before you start." I was starting with the team as security in two weeks. With being deployed, trying to sort my life out and working, I had never met most of the team. Unfortunately, I had even missed their wedding because I was deployed. The only person I had ever really met was Megan.
"I'll be there!" I yelled over my shoulder.
After what felt like hours and good few wipe outs, I finally made my way back to the beach. I had my wetsuit sitting down around my waist, drying myself off when a voice spoke up, "You're pretty good."
There was a brown haired girl, probably about my age, staring at my abs. I smirked before speaking, "Guess you didn't see the part where I totally wiped out?"
Her head shot up. As soon as our eyes met, an intense burning sensation shot through my wrist. I hissed, gripping my wrist. The stranger seemed to be doing the same thing, but the pain was so intense, I couldn't pay much attention. After a few seconds the pain subsided and I finally looked down at my wrist. Previously bare skin was now covered by a wave tattoo. What was happening finally hit me. The stranger was my soulmate.
I looked at her for a second, feeling a sense of calm wash over me as it felt like everything was falling into place. It felt right. Which was not what I wanted to feel. Honestly, it scared me. I had heard stories about it, but I never wanted to feel that way towards my soulmate.
"You-"
Before the stranger could say anything else, I ran away. Literally, I picked up my surfboard and sprinted down the beach. I never wanted to meet my soulmate, I didn't want a soulmate to begin with. In that moment I figured that if I ran away, I wouldn't have to deal with it or see her again.
"Woah, I know you are not about to come into this house with your wetsuit still on."
"Right sorry," I quickly stripped off my wetsuit, making sure to hang it up before rushing upstairs to shower and try forget what happened on the beach. I was in the shower for probably half an hour before moving to sit on my bed, staring into space for another good half an hour. There was a knock on the door, bringing me out of my thoughts, "Yeah?"
"You coming down? The team is starting to arrive."
"Uh yeah, let me just get dressed. I'll be down in a minute."
I quickly got dressed before pushing any thoughts of soulmates out of my mind. Before I could get far, crying from the nursery caught my attention. Ali called up the stairs asking me to get him before heading down.
"Hi baby boy," I whispered as I picked him up, moving to change his diaper before we went down stairs, "I could definitely use some cuddles from my beautiful nephew right about now, how does that sound? Maybe we can get you a bottle while we're at it, everyone loves good food after a nap."
I was too invested in my one sided conversation to notice the amount of girls gathered in the kitchen as I walked in. As I looked up, I found my gaze drawn to a curly haired brunette. That was until my wrist started intensely burning again.
"Take him."
Ali looked confused, "What?"
"Someone take him now." Ocean was quickly taken from me as I gripped my wrist, trying not to swear because I knew Sloane was in the room. This almost felt worse than the first time, maybe because the area was already tender.
"Y/n! What's happening?" I heard Ash ask, voice laced with worry as her arm wrapped around me. The pain subsided once again as I looked at the stranger. I got the same calm feeling from the beach wash over me. Ash was still standing next to me, concern radiating off her as I looked around the room, eyes stopping on the stranger from the beach. Before anyone could say anything, I ran again. This time out of the house and back to the beach. I was confused, why did I have that reaction twice? There was no way I had two soulmates right? That doesn't happen.
I finally looked down at my wrist. The wave tattoo now accompanied by a house. I sunk down into the sand, tucking my knees against my chest as I stared out at the water.
Someone sat down next to me, I knew it was either Ali or Ash, they were the only ones who knew about the little corner of the beach I came to hide. Ali's soft voice spoke up after a few seconds, "Thought I might find you here. You found your soulmate?"
Of course it was Ali. Ash was always there for me, but it was more support, spending time with me, fighting for me. Ali was always the better one at making me talk. I chucked humourlessly, showing her my wrist, "Two soulmates apparently. First one happened on the beach earlier."
"That's why you came in so hurriedly. Going by who you were looking at when it happened, I have a feeling I know who your other is. Do you want to know who they are?"
"I never wanted to know them at all."
Ali wrapped her arm around me, pulling me closer. Her perfume creating a sense of peace as it always did, "I know, I know you don't like the concept of a soulmate, but you're going to be around them a lot Y/n. They're our teammates."
"Of course they are. Fuck this, fuck the world, fuck everything."
She chuckled, rubbing my arm, "You're being a bit dramatic."
I groaned dramatically, "Just let me be dramatic for a second before I have to face this."
"Okay, let me know when you're ready."
After a few minutes I decided to just face it. It wasn't something I could run from. Ali was right, if they were on the team them I would be around them a lot, "Tell me."
"So the one in the house is Christen, now I'm assuming the one from the beach is Tobin."
"Why do you assume that?"
"Christen and Tobin are together, they're soulmates. They've mentioned a few times that they felt like someone was missing. I know you don't want this Y/n, but you should at least talk to them. It effects them as well, they deserve to know your stance."
Once again Ali was right, just because I didn't believe in it, doesn't mean they didn't deserve to know that I wasn't interested instead of me just running away or ignoring it. I could be an asshole, but not that much of an asshole, especially when it came to potentially breaking some ones heart. "I know. Give me 5 minutes once you get back then you can send them out if they want to."
Ali left, once again leaving me to my thoughts. I didn't know what I was supposed to say. I was never good at talking to people I just met or having to potentially hurt someone. Add them both together and I was slightly panicking.
Shadows covered the sun making me look up. There stood my two soul mates. Who I guessed was Tobin spoke up first, "Uh hey, Ali said we'd find you out here."
I quickly looked down, trying to stop the feelings that started to rise being this close to them. It was comfortable, calming, peaceful, but I was nervous at the same time. Nervous about what to say, how they would react and how I would feel about it once it was done. It wasn't what I wanted, I didn't want to be forced to be with someone. There was a small part of me that wondered if I would regret it, "Hey."
"I'm Tobin, this is Christen."
"Y/n."
They sat down, looking about as nervous as I felt. There was silence for a few seconds before I spoke up, "I'm sorry for running away. Twice. It was a shock I guess."
"It's okay, we get it."
"Look um I have to be honest with you both. I don't believe in soulmates, well I do, but I don't believe in the concept of just being with someone because you're told you should be. I'm sure you are both great, but this isn't something I'm looking to pursue."
They tried to hide it, but I saw the hurt fill their eyes. My heart ached knowing I hurt them. Hurting people was the last thing I wanted to do. Christen smiled softly at me, "We respect that Y/n."
"I-I'm sorry."
"Don't be, it's okay. We understand."
"We're going to head back in. Are you coming?"
"I will. I'm just going to take a minute."
After getting my mind back in order, I made my way back to the house stopping by the door to take my shoes off. It wasn't my intention to eavesdrop, but I accidently overheard the conversation going on. "Yes she's our soulmate, no nothing is going to come of it. She's not looking for that right now and we understand that. Finding out you have two soulmates is a lot especially when you're not looking for a relationship. Yes, it kind of hurts, but please don't let this effect the way you interact with her. We don't hold any negative feelings toward her."
There was quiet conversation as I waited a few seconds before going inside. I appreciated that they had my back despite what just happened. It was one of my worries that it would effect how the team saw me. I couldn't do my job easily if they hated me. I also didn't want my sisters bestfriends to hate me. Sloane was the first person to notice me, she ran up pulling at my hand until I picked her up, "Otay aunt Y/n/n? Ouchie? Kiss better."
I held my wrist out for her to kiss better. It was something I always did for her when she got hurt, "I'm okay superstar, it's all better now thanks to you."
"Ladies, this is my sister Y/n. As you may know she's starting as head of security in a couple of weeks."
Things weren't as awkward as I expected. They didn't seem to hold it against me. Interacting with me, getting to know me. Tobin and Christen kept their distance, choosing to interact with anyone but me. It wasn't unexpected, I was doing the same thing. It was just easier that way.
---
No one warned you how weird it would feel to not be with your soulmate or soulmates in my case. It was kind of hard to describe, there wasn't a constant pain or heartache like you would read in stories, it just felt weird. It was a sort of empty feeling, like something was missing. Which I guess there was. It had been three weeks since I first met them and a week since I started working with them.
We were friendly when around each other, but Christen and Tobin kept their distance when they could. I didn't blame them, I knew it hurt that their soulmate didn't want them. Ash had told me when I had asked how they were. Just because I didn't want it, doesn't mean I didn't care. If I'm being honest, I was still drawn to them, drawn to how right everything felt when I was around them. That scared me so I kept even more of a distance.
I was heading up to my room when someone stopped the elevator from closing. Christen and Tobin got on, standing awkwardly across from me. This was the first time we had been alone since the beach on the day we met. The elevator jolted to a stop, not opening or moving despite trying the buttons.
"They said something went wrong with the system, some ones coming to fix it, but it could take up to an hour." Tobin informed us as she hung up the phone.
"Great. That's just fucking fantastic. Of course this would happen now of all times"
I noticed Tobin clenching her jaw, "I know you don't want to be stuck with us, but you don't have to take it out on us. It's not like it's our fault."
I slid down the wall, tucking my knees to my chest. Tobin and Christen followed my lead, sitting down on the other side of the elevator. "Sorry, that was just a general statement, it wasn't aimed at you. I have an appointment with my therapist and I don't do well in confined spaces anymore." There was silence for a few minutes before I spoke up again, "It's not that I don't want to be stuck with you guys, I have nothing against you, you're both really nice people."
Tobin sighed, head resting back against the wall, "I know you have a thing about soulmates and we do respect that, but why won't you even just try to get to know us before completely shutting it down?"
"I don't know. To be honest I didn't even think about it. Everything happened so quickly, I got scared."
"What scares you?" Christen asked, voice softer than Tobin's was. I was starting to think that was just how Christen was. She always seemed so soft spoken. I admit it was comforting.
I was never one to easily talk about my feelings, but I figured I owed them more of an explanation seeing as I broke their hearts with little to no explanation to begin with, "I don't want to be stuck in a relationship with someone I don't like or have anything in common with. I want to choose who I'm with, who I build a life with, not have it forced on me. Having two soulmates didn't help either."
"Chris and I aren't asking for a relationship Y/n."
"Y-you're not?"
"No, we just want to get to know you, see if there is anything there beside the soulmate connection. We never expected you to just jump into a relationship with us, all we wanted was to get to know you. Seeing how you reacted to us, we didn't want to push you."
"No expectations?"
"No expectations."
"That might be okay. For now can you guys just tell me about yourselves? Distract me from what's happening because I'm about to start panicking."

CHAPTER 4
Alex POV
"Okay, so where are you taking me?" Mack asks.
"For me to know and you to find out." I respond.
She chuckles.
I reach over and grab her hand, intertwining them.
We continue driving and pull into the restaurant.
"Whoa." Mack says.
I smile and squeeze her hand, "I really love this restaurant and wanted to share it with you."
She stares at me, "Let's go."
We get out of the car and start walking in when I feel Mack grab my hand.
I smile and feel butterflies in my stomach.
"Hi, Miss Morgan, we have your table ready."
"Thanks!"
Mack pulls me to a stop, "Miss Morgan? So fancy."
I feel my face heat up, "Well. You know that I'm famous. I don't want that to scare you off, but it has its perks."
She smiles and shakes her head, "Doesn't scare me."
I nod and pull her along to our table that has an ocean view.
"Wow. This is amazing." She says.
"Well. I think you're pretty amazing, so only the best for you." I say.
She chuckles and shakes her head.
"So, how was your day?" She asks.
I smile, "It was good. We had training and then meetings. We have a big game on Sunday again against Portland. You'll be there?"
She smiles, "I think I'm your goodluck charm."
I chuckle, "You are. I scored and we won last week. Now you have to be at every game."
"I plan on it." She says.
I stare at her, "How was your day?"
She bobs her head, "It was good. It's like getting to the end of the year, so things are settling down. Mostly exams and papers. My students are like so ready to be done, driving me nuts a little."
I chuckle, "Do you remember being in high school? I couldn't wait for summer."
She smiles, "Oh yeah, I remember. It's just hard to keep my patience. Plus I have my GSA kids trying to plan an end of year thing."
"GSA?" I ask.
"Gay-straight alliance. Like a club for the kids. I'm the teacher sponsor for them."
I lean back, "Wow. That's so cool."
She smiles, "Well. I'd always wished that I had that growing up, so it only made sense to kind of give back. Make sure they feel supported, make connections."
I nod, "That makes sense. That's truly amazing, those kids are lucky to have you."
She looks down, "It's nothing, really."
I reach and grab her hand, "It is. It's impressive."
I watch as her ears turn bright red.
"Alright, food. Wait, actually, wine." I say.
"You trying to get me drunk?" She quips.
My eyes widen, "Uh, no? We don't have to have wine!"
She chuckles and squeezes my hand, "I'm just teasing. We can have wine. White wine."
"White wine. Okay." I say.
"Do you eat fish?" She asks.
"Yes." I deadpan.
She stares at me and turns bright red.
I chuckle, "You're adorable. Yes, I eat fish. All kinds."
"Okay. Great." She says.
'This girl is too cute.'
Mack POV
"That was delicious." I say and sit back.
"Glad you liked it." She says.
I grin, "The company was alright too."
She laughs, "Just alright?"
I look down and back up, "Company was wonderful."
"So wonderful that you'll get another glass of wine with me and watch the ocean out on the patio?"
I chuckle, "I think I can manage that."
"Okay, great. You go out there, I'll pay and get the wine."
I smile and head outside.
I lean on the railing and look out, then look down at the rings around my neck.
Babe, if you're there, just let me know.
I close my eyes and feel a wind blow harshly.
I smile, "Hi, babe."
I sigh, "You like Alex?"
I wait and feel the wind blow lightly.
I smile, "Me too."
I feel a hand on my back and startle.
"Hey. You okay?" I turn and see Alex.
I smile, "Yeah. A whole bottle? You really are trying to get me drunk."
She chuckles, "Maybe I am."
I shake my head, "You're something else."
"In a good way?" She asks.
I nod and lean in, kissing her cheek, "A really good way."
She grins and pours us both a glass, handing me one.
She sits next to me and rests her hand on my leg.
I lean my head on her shoulder, "I like this."
"I like this too." She says.
"So how does the World Cup work?" I ask.
I lift my head up and look at her.
"What do you mean?" She asks.
"Like explain it to me. I saw that there's eight groups of four teams."
She smiles, "Okay. So we do group play first, which means we play every team in the group. Top two teams advance out do the group to the round of 16, knockouts then you have to win to move on."
I nod along, "Oh wow. That's like a lot of games in a month."
She nods, "It takes a toll, emotionally and physically."
"I believe it. Does Charlie get to go? And your family?"
She smiles and nods, "My family always comes. My dad is literally like the team mascot."
I chuckle, "That's so cool. That they're supportive. It's in Australia and New Zealand?"
She nods, "Yeah, but it's going to be winter, like cold."
I chuckle, "You don't like the cold?"
She shakes her head, "California girl through and through."
I squeeze her side, "Well, we will have to toughen you up. East coast winters are brutal."
She looks at me, "You'll keep me warm."
I stare at her puppy dog eyes and smile, "Yeah, I will. I'm pretty good at building a fire too."
"Do you go back for the holidays?"
I nod, "Yeah. We usually go see Ally's family, they're in New York. We will probably do that again this year."
She nods, "Do you talk to her family a lot?"
I sigh, "Yeah. I mean Riley is their granddaughter. They've always been supportive and they're really great people."
"That's good, I'm glad they're supportive."
"Me too. It would've made the nightmare even worst if they weren't." I say.
I finish my glass of wine, "Shall we finish this off?"
She smiles and nods.
"Pour me a glass? I'll be right back." She says and I watch as she walks inside.
I pour her a glass and myself.
'Best night.'
Alex POV
I walk back out and stare at Mack.
'I'm so lucky.'
I hear the music come on and she looks up.
I walk over to her and hold my hand out, "I told you that I'd make you dance with me."
She shakes her head and I throw my head back.
"Please? Don't leave me hanging." I plead.
She sighs and takes my hand and I pull her up.
She laughs, "You like Taylor Swift?"
I pause, "It's not a like, it's a love."
She stares at me and shakes her head, "I like her music too."
I grab her hands and place them around my back.
We start swaying and I lay my head on her shoulder.
We sway until the music is over and I look up at her.
She's staring at me and I take a deep breath.
"Hi." She says.
I chuckle, "Hi."
"I really want to kiss you." She whispers.
I lean in so that my lips ghost over hers, "I really want you to."
She smiles and leans in, pressing her lips against mine and I swear the world was burning around us.
I pull away and open my eyes, seeing her eyes closed with tears falling down her cheeks.
I place my hands on her cheeks, "Hey. It's okay."
She opens her eyes and stares at me, "Tears of happiness, promise."
I rub my thumbs under her eyes and lean in, pressing my lips against hers, then pull back.
She chuckles, "You're something."
I nod, "I know. But I really like you."
She bobs her head, "I really like you too. Just be patient with me, okay?"
I pull her close and hug her, "I'll be as patient as you need me to be."
She kisses my head, "Thanks."
I pull away and she sits back down and holds her hand out.
She pulls me so that I'm sitting on her lap and hands me my glass.
"This is cozy." I say.
She grins, "It is, huh. Okay, so, is Portland good?"
I stare at her and chuckle, "Yeah, they're very good. They're pretty physical too. I usually need like a whole body massage afterwards."
Her eyes widen and I can see her whole face flushing.
I chuckle and put my hand on her cheek, "I'm not expecting you to give me one. But for future reference, how would Ally have rated your massage skills?"
She smiles and shakes her head, "I think she'd rate them pretty good."
I bob my head, "Good to know."
"So am I going to be worried about you at the game?"
I shrug and take a drink of wine, "Maybe, but I'll be okay. I always get back up. Or almost always at least."
Her eyes widen, "Almost always?"
"There's been a few times. But if you're going to be my biggest supporter, you're allowed to worry. But you'll know when I'm really hurt or when I just need a minute to breathe through it."
She nods, "Okay. You'll give me like a thumbs up or something?"
I chuckle and nod.
I finish my wine and watch as she does too.
"I don't want this night to end." She says.
I lean down and press my lips against hers.
"Me either." I say as I pull away.
I stare at her and try to read what she's feeling.
I rub her cheek, "I'm not going anywhere and we have time."
She closes her eyes and nods, "You're amazing."
I smile and press my lips against hers again.
"Well I think you're pretty amazing too. Ready to head home?"
She nods and I stand up, reaching my hand out.
She grabs it and I turn my hand to intertwine them.
I pull her through the restaurant.
"Goodnight, Miss Morgan."
I look at the hostess, "Goodnight, thank you!"
We get to my car and I open her door, closing it after her.
I get into the driver's seat and turn to look at Mack, who's staring at me.
"What?"
"I used to always open the door for Ally. It was like our thing." She says.
I grab her hand and pull it to my lips, "Well now I'll open it for you. It'll be our thing."
She smiles and nods, leaning her head back, "I like that."
I smile and nod, starting the drive back to her house.
I turn on Taylor swift and start singing.
I look over and she's smiling.
"What? Am I bad at singing?" I ask.
She shakes her head, "I'm not telling you to shut up. I'm just smiling at you."
I reach and turn up the music.
"But she wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts, she's cheer captain, and I'm on the bleachers. Dreaming about the day when you wake up and find that what you're looking for has been here the whole time!" I sing loudly.
I look over at her and she's smiling widely.
"If you could see that I'm the one who understands you. Been here all along, so why can't you see? You belong with me!"
I turn down the music.
"You'll sing with me?" I ask her.
She chuckles, "I don't sing."
"You also said that you don't dance, but I already got my way with that." I say pointedly.
She shakes her head, "You did, didn't you?"
I nod, "Yup!"
She smiles widely, "I'll sing with you one day."
"I'm holding you to that, Mack!"
She squeezes my hand, "I know you are."
We pull up to her house and I sigh.
"What's wrong?" She asks.
I look at her, "I had so much fun. I'll just miss you until Sunday."
She squeezes my hand, "Well what if Riley and I saw you and Charlie tomorrow?"
I stare at her.
"Beach day?" She asks.
I smile and nod, "Absolutely. I have a light training and a meeting, but after?"
"That's okay. Riley and I are going to visit Ally in the morning, so that works out." She says.
I smile softly, "Okay. Beach date?"
She chuckles, "Beach date with our girls."
I lean in and wait until she meets me halfway and presses her lips against mine.
I move my lips with hers and can't help the moan that escapes me.
I pull away and lick my lips.
I open my eyes and see her smiling, "See you tomorrow, superstar."
"Night, Mack."
I watch as she gets out and walks to her door, opening and turning back towards me.
I blow her a kiss and she catches it.
I shake my head and laugh.
'Best date ever.'

Stuck on the puzzle: Chapter one
next | masterlist
pairing: Luke Castellan x Olivia Messer (daughter of Apollo oc)
word count: 2,3k
summary: Will Solace arrives to camp Half-blood and finds that the two people helping him really don't get along.
Will Solace was having the weirdest day of his life. He had stumbled on to this weird camp place with his friend Mark only to find out that Mark was actually 20 and not 8 like Will and he wasn't his friend, but his protector? He also had hooves and antlers, but weirdly that didn't bother Will so much. He had always seen weird things, scary creatures hidden in dark alleys, winged horses and such. Every adult in his life had always chucked it up to him having a wild imagination and he hadn't questioned it until the pigeon started following him from school and suddenly started to grow bigger and bigger. Mark managed to scare off the creature for some time and within it they managed to make their way out of New York and almost onto the grounds of camp. Will barely made it across the border, but he did, the creature managing only a small scratch on his ankle.
The scratch was so small that he didn't think to mention it when a centaur (crazy) and the god of wine (crazier) explained to him that he was the son of a greek god who would maybe claim his as his son. He also didn't think to mention it to the dark haired teenager, who introduced himself as Luke Castellan, head counsellor of the Hermes cabin. Only when Luke started showing him around, was the scratch becoming a problem. He had to limp slightly and that was slowing him down, but Luke was a little intimidating with his knowledge of the camp and the way everyone greeted him with utter respect. Still, it was unapparent that Will was moving slowly, and eventually Luke noticed.
"Are you hurt? Mark said the harpy didn't get you", he frowned.
"It's no big deal", Will said shyly, but it was starting to really hurt.
"Let me have a look", Luke said and knelt down gently.
Luke lifted Will's pant leg and they both winced. The scratch seemed a lot bigger now than it was and it was starting to get yellow around the edges.
"Okay, next on the tour is the infirmary. And not to stress you out or anything, but we might have to get there fast, can you get on my back?" Luke asked.
Will nodded, suddenly in a lot of pain. Luke lifted him on his back and sprinted to the infirmary, a small building on the side of the cabins.
Luke let Will down to knock on the door and Will had the urge to hide behind him. He hadn't spent much time in hospitals and he didn't really want to start today.
The door opened to reveal a teenage girl. She had a smile on her face, but frowned immediately as she saw Luke.
"I'll get Lee", she said curtly.
"Wait no, it's not for me", Luke replied.
It seemed that only then she saw Will, who was doing his best to pretend he wasn't hiding and in great pain. He failed at both.
The girls face softened as she saw Will and when she looked back at Luke, an understanding seemed to pass between the two of them and they rushed Will inside.
"It's a harpy scratch, I think. Yellow edges and everything", Luke said once Will was settled into a bed. The girl had immediately started cutting his pant leg off with a knife.
"Why didn't you take him here immediately? I imagine you know they're poisonous."
Not as poisonous as her voice, Will thought.
"He didn't say anything, I just noticed him limping."
"I'm sorry", Will croaked, embarrassed he had hidden his injury.
Once again, a soft smile.
"It's not your fault. You're a tough kid for holding out that long", she said.
Will was given a glass of something that tasted like fresh movie theater popcorn with extra butter in it and he was so dumbfounded by it that he didn't register anything else around him.
"I'm going to have to give you a little shot on your leg, okay? Are you scared of needles?" the girl asked him.
Will shook his head.
"That's good. Means you're already tougher than this guy", she gestured to Luke, who was standing behind her looking at the ground. "Best swordsman in 300 years they say, but you try to give him a shot and you'd think he's never been near anything sharp."
Will smiled, still feeling a bit shy around the girl who gave Luke such a cold welcome. Behind her Luke was smiling so wide you'd think she'd sung his highest praises.
She injected the shot after cleaning the wound and told him to sleep it off in there for the night. He nodded, knowing that there was no way in hell, or maybe he should say Hades now, he was going to be able to sleep. She seemed to be a mind reader since she gave him a sleeping pill to take.
"It's going to be okay. Everyone's arrival is a bit insane and confusing. We've all been there and it's going to get better. Just sleep it off and Luke's going to continue the tour tomorrow", she said in a voice so calming, Will almost believed it.
He took the sleeping pill, but even in his sleepy state, he managed to hear a few words between Luke and the girl.
"Thanks for that", Luke said, he sounded awkward, something Will hadn't been sure he was capable of.
"Just doing my job", the girl said, back to the cold tone that seemed to be reserved specifically for Luke.
"But still, it takes a lot out of you, I know that now."
"Sure."
"Can you just cut me some slack? It's been like seven months. I've changed and I don't see any reason we can't be friends again. You don't have to heal me, look out for me, just talk to me. Please?" Luke's last words were barely above a whisper.
"I think you should go", her voice cracked a little.
"It's not fair."
"Life's not fair. Go."
The next morning Will woke up feeling a lot better. Luke wasn't there so the girl in the hospital was nice the whole time. Will was curious, so the temptation to ask her about Luke was big, but after seeing how deathly her stare could be, he didn't want to risk it. She introduced herself as Olivia.
"Your legs looking a whole lot better", she said cheerfully.
"What did you give me?" Will thought, only now to ask.
"Thinking of the taste? It's nectar, drink of the gods. It tastes like your favorite things, but you can't have too much. I'll give you a little bit before you go though."
"I mean in the vial. The shot."
She grimaced a little
"Right, I suppose you have a right to know."
"You don't have to say it if you don't want to", Will said, once again afraid to piss the girl off.
"No it's fine, some people think it's a little weird or gross. Or both."
"I won't."
She had a very bright smile, Will noticed.
"It was my blood."
"Huh?"
"I injected you with my blood. It's got some healing properties. Even I don't properly know how it works, but I'm O negative so it's been working for everyone."
"Your blood has healing powers?"
"Yup."
"So you have like a superpower?"
"I don't know if I'd call it that, but close enough. Some kids have a bit of godly power they've inherited from their parents."
"Like what?"
"Like...Children of Demeter. Some of them can make plants grow from anywhere and all of them have a certified green thumb."
"Who's your parent?"
"Apollo. God of the sun, healing, archery, prophecy...the list goes on, but even I can't remember all of it."
"So that's why you have healing blood."
She nodded.
"I'm also pretty good with a bow, but people get stuck on that first part."
Will was quiet for a moment.
"When did you get claimed?"
"It happens at a different time for everyone."
"It was quick, wasn't it."
"For me, yes. But then again I stumbled into camp with a three inch stab wound in my stomach that was almost gone by the time they got me to the infirmary, so there were suspicions quite early on. But even then it took my dad a week. Luke said-"
She paused, cleared her throat and carried on like nothing happened, but her smile was a bit faker.
"Luke said 'I could've told you that' immediately after it happened."
There was a knock on the door.
"Speak of the devil", she muttered. "It's open!"
"How you doing tough guy?" Luke smiled, deliberately avoiding Olivia, who was now busying herself with the medical equipment on the side.
"Better. Olivia said I can have a little nectar and be on my way."
Luke looked at her, questioning before he realized he was supposed to be avoiding her gaze. She looked back and once again Will got the feeling that something was being said.
"That's great! We can continue with the tour then!"
"One glass of nectar first. You can wait and make sure he doesn't drink it too fast", Olivia said, producing a glass and going deeper into the infirmary.
"You heard her, doctors orders", Luke said.
And so they left the infirmary. Luke first showed Will the Hermes cabin where his measly belongings had been placed on a sleeping bag in the corner on the ground.
"This is where I have to sleep?" Will asked, bummed.
"Just for now. As soon as you get claimed you'll get a bed in your cabin. Or here, if we're related."
"It's pretty crammed here already, though."
"Yup. But you'll get used to it, it's not as bad as it looks. Let's get breakfast."
At breakfast, Luke introduced Will to Chris Rodriquez, who'd been at camp for a year. Before he could even properly sit down, some girl came to say that there was an emergency counselor meeting about the feud between the Ares and Athena cabins. Luke sighed and got up reluctantly. Will watched him glance an automatic glance at the Apollo table, where Olivia got up. She walked right past him and sped up all the way to the big house, while Luke was almost dragging his feet. Chris looked at the whole spectacle disapprovingly.
"When are they going to get over this?" a girl sitting next to Chris said. She introduced herself to Will as Meg, daughter of Hecate, goddess of magic.
"I don't know", Chris sighed. "Luke keeps trying to talk to her, but she's either too stubborn or he's approaching it the wrong way because it always ends in a fight."
"My guess it that it's both."
"Well you should talk to her about it, you're always braiding each others hair and whatnot."
"I've tried, but she refuses to talk about anything Luke related. One time I tried asking her until she gave me an answer, but she just walked off."
"What happened?" Will got the courage to ask.
Both of the older campers, who seemed to have forgotten he was there, turned to him.
"It's a long story", Meg said apprehensively.
"Sorry. I don't mean to be nosy, they were just really weird to each other in the infirmary."
"Well the problem is no one really knows. Even Luke is kind of confused about the whole thing. They were inseparable for a while and then last fall there was this big screaming fight and they haven't really been friends since", Chris sighed.
Will nodded and the two soon left him to his own devices. Which meant that he stayed sitting down at the table because he didn't know his way around camp yet.
"Hey buddy, sorry about the interruption", Luke was suddenly smiling beside him. "Want to continue the tour?"
"Absolutely."
Luke showed Will the rest of the wonder that was camp Half-blood, but declared he wasn't allowed to try any of the fun stuff (archery, wall climbing or even canoeing) before he got another check up. So once again, they were at the infirmary.
This time a guy opened the door. Will was smart enough to figure out that he was also a child of Apollo and through that, Olivias half-brother. He tried to find any similarities, but they were hard to come by. Olivia had a light brown complexion and dark, curly hair down to her shoulders, while Lee had dirty blonde hair, like Will that looked to be sun bleached in different spots. The half-siblings shared the same smile though, Lee's scrunching up his freckles when he greeted Will and Luke. If he held any resentment towards Luke on behalf of his sister, he sure didn't show it.
"What's the problem?"
"Our new camper Will here got scratched by a harpy yesterday. Olivia-"
Lee raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"healed it yesterday, but I figured it might be worth getting a look at before we try any activities."
"Good thinking. Olivia give him a shot?"
"Yup. Along with some nectar and ambrosia."
"Alright, let's take a look", Lee gestured them in.
Olivia was already in there, fixing up a crying kid, about Will's age or maybe a year older, who had a bleeding knee. Olivia was patching him up and giving him the regular runaround of 'you're fine's and 'it'll only hurt a little's. The kid saw Luke and his tears stopped on sight.
"Luke! Luke!" he screamed out. "I got hurt!"
"Sure looks like you did, Dylan", Luke chuckled. "What's the battlewound like?"
The kid, apparently named Dylan, showed his sraped knee off with pride.
"I got it in a sword fight!"
"I'd hate to see what the other guy looks like."
"The other guy was a doll, based on what I heard", Olivia smiled.
"You weren't suppose to say that!"
"Sorry, I'm sure Chiron will have to throw it out once you're done getting your revenge, though."
"You're no fun, Olivia."
"Don't bite the hand that heals you."
"I'm sure you were fighting fiercely", Luke insured. "You do that sidestep I thought you?"
"I fucking nailed it!"
"Language!" Olivia and Luke said in unison, then proceeded to look at each other weird.
Lee choked a laugh from where he was checking Will's knee.
"You're all done Dylan", Olivia patted him on the back. "Make that doll pay for what he did."
"Will's done too", Lee announced. "Fully healed", he told Will.
"Great!", Luke clapped his hands together. "You wanna come show Will around? He just got here yesterday", he asked Dylan.
"Hell yes!"
"Dude!" Olivia sighed.
"Let's go before we get kicked out", Luke laughed and led the two boys out, looking at Olivia awkwardly when he waved her goodbye. She didn't wave back.
Will just barely heard Lee tell Olivia something about no traces and she responded that he might be one of 'theirs'.
Whatever that meant.

hi i’m that one person who was upset about a sonadow sex joke you made. let me preface by saying i’m not here to argue or scare you but to apologize.
you don’t have to respond to this at ALL i just saw your blog name and felt guilty for hurting you.
im sorry about upsetting you and reacting the way i did. i still think its eugh and everything. but i just get upset when people make jokes about that with characters previously stated to be minors because of personal trauma and people sexualizing me as a kid and just morals in general. of course i know that i can’t control how people enjoy their stuff, and i know it’s going to exist regardless. but i want to at least know if who im interacting with is someone i don’t want to talk to due to being a proshipper or whatever stuff like that.
i wasn’t trying to ‘cancel’ you or anything. i was upset and said something in the moment. i’m sorry. i should have just unfollowed and moved on. i should’ve saw the human i knew behind the screen but what i could only think of was a random person i didn’t know. i’m really sorry.
well, anon, i accept your apology. but also i dont. so let's take this one by one, okay?
first of all. you're still wrong, and i'm still angry.
it wasnt a "sex joke", i was commenting on a uquiz someone else made, because i found the sheer fact that sonadow of all ships was included in that quiz to be really funny. not to mention, the uquiz was based on statistics from ao3, and i guessed the correct answer by just knowing how shipping culture works. i thought this was funny. you know, people are allowed to find suggestive humor funny, even if you're uncomfortable with it, anon.
but i'll humor you. lets say i was doing the things i got accused of doing. big deal. i don't think you're wrong for being upset, much less for being uncomfortable, but one: could've settled this over dms, two: not everyone is you. not everyone is uncomfortable. not everyone cares so much. i didn't give that joke more than two seconds of thought, you clearly did, and i don't think you're wrong for that, i think it wasn't my problem.
secondly, and this will sound horrible, but (like i said) your discomfort isn't something i (the people running that oc poll, and my followers, by the way) needed to know about. i hear you, anon, and i'm sorry that all that happened to you. i understand the discomfort. but, like i said, we could've settled this in private, you could've at least told me which mutual you were, and no one else had to know.
third: i am not a proshipper, and i don't appreciate that you're still calling me gross, by the way. this isn't an apology if you're not accepting you were wrong. i'll humor you again and say that i was doing what you say i was doing: it is not that serious to me, and i don't like being called gross for something that is just plain, morally neutral weird (not good, not bad, neutral weird)
and fourth: thank you for at least recognizing what you should've done. however you didn't do that. from what i understand, based on what happened shortly after your anon, you went to the person running that sonic oc poll (which, whatever, i was losing anyway), and you lied about what i was doing to get me kicked out. good on you for realizing that was wrong. but you know, i'm still angry. im banned from many fandom events now because you couldn't just unfollow me. so i'm glad you realized it was wrong, i accept your apology, but i'm still very much angry with you.
i'm glad you're sorry, i'm glad you're recognizing i'm a human being (okay?) and i'm glad you at least tried to apologize. don't call me gross, apologize for real, and next time don't do this to someone through tumblr anon over whats essentially a common ocurrence on the sonic fandom, and every other fandom
(by the way, even if we weren't mutuals, you shouldnt do something like this to "a random person you don't know" either, but what do i know right? and "because of my trauma" isn't an excuse, because by that logic you also generated trauma in me, because now i'm fucking paranoid about everything i fucking post. i can thank you for that.)
have a nice day.
by the way

avengers interstellar AU
since i've seen it in theaters last night i can't stop thinking about writing an avengers/winterhawk interstellar AU and i feel like it's eating me from the inside, so i'm just gonna throw all my ideas at you. spoiler warnings for interstellar and a fanfiction i'll probably never write (having some interstellar knowledge is recommend lol i'm not explaining any of the movie aspects)
it's not gonna be as angsty as actual interstellar bc i can't do main character death for the life of me, i'm gonna ignore a lot of science bc i'm stupid and it's gonna be heavily winterhawk focused bc i'm insufferable, but here we go:
the world is ending and has been for years due to the blight and everything, yap yap yap you know the deal. the avengers basically just were a team of super talented scientists and engineers and test pilots, doing a lot of research for years and also dealing with some international shit or smth idk and it doesn't really matter. the team doesn't exist anymore bc they're not needed anymore, with food becoming the most dominant problem and everything, again, yk the deal. so most of them decide to retire from shield/nasa work and become farmers/etc.
nasa is doing the lazarus missions tho, and who volunteers? 10 people who don't really matter to the story (just like in the movie), steve (bc he's steve goddamn, ofc he's gonna volunteer to go on a suicide mission to possibly save humanity) and nat (bc she's rational, + she knows clint's probably gonna settle down with bucky somewhere (they've been in that "we fuck and spend almost every minute together, and we're so obviously in love but too scared to talk about it" stage for years), so she knows she won't be needed anymore bla bla)
clint's devastated about nat leaving, but she's like "enjoy your time as a farmer and when fury asks you to travel through spacetime to rescue us in a decade, you better be married to bucky's ass, idiot".
bucky's angry with steve for leaving but not surprised, and he's like "don't you dare die out there or i will walk through that goddamn wormhole just to kill you again"
tony's super pissy with steve for leaving, but doesn't show up to say goodbye or anything bc they're not really on speaking terms (they had an affair that was obviously much more than that during the period when tony and pepper had broken up, but then something civil war-like happened, and they're still angry at each other bc of that, and now tony's with pepper again, but there's obviously still a lot of unresolved stuff going on between them ykyk.
regarding steve & bucky: pretty sure i'll make them both the same age as everyone else, so no "frozen/held captive by hydra for 70 year" business, but i still need them to be supersoldiers. so maybe steve still volunteered for the experiment, and maybe he even became some kind of captain america (but an astronaut-version of him???), and bucky still got the not-so-good super-serum thingy and was held captive by hydra, but "only" for a couple of years, before he was rescued and joined the avengers.
again, all of that's not that important, the only relevant thing is that bucky got the serum and that it slows his aging process significantly.
whoo, lots of exposition sorry. that was basically just the prologue.
fast forward, 6-10 years, idk. pepper and tony had morgan, but pepper died of cancer (and i HATE nothing more than killing of a woman for an mlm ship, but seeing as cooper's wife in interstellar died as well, forcing him to leave behind his kids without a mom, i think it's a valid plot point for once). clint took bucky with him to his parent's old farm, they had peaceful couple of years, both recovering from trauma yap yap yap, they're happy alright (and officially together bc this is NOT a winterhawk slowburn).
then they all get a call form fury tho, being like "hey guys, sooo steve's, nat's and [random third character's] worlds look promising, wanna travel through the wormhole and check those planets out lolol???", and they obviously don't want to, but they all knew that day would come, so clint, bucky, tony and someone else (haven't decided who, bc that person's gonna be the one who dies on the water-planet thingy close to gargantua, so that's a hard decision to make) become the endurance team and set off into space.
and here's the thing: tony's on the mission bc he wants to save the life of morgan and especially her potential future kids and OFC bc he has a tiny hope of seeing steve again. clint's on the mission bc with bucky on the ship as well, there's nothing keeping him on earth, + the tiny chance of seeing nat again. bucky's on the mission for all of those reasons, but there's another factor for him, and that's time dilation.
he's a couple of years older than clint, but due to his slow aging, their body's are pretty much at the same stage already if u know what i mean, and while clint's relatively chill about it bc "hey man, you still gonna look sexy as fuck when i'm a bald old man, i'm so lucky", bucky's freaking out over it.
he's well aware of the time dilation caused by gargantua, so his plan is to be the one to stay behind on the ship while the others fly down to the planet on its horizon, and to NOT put himself into hypersleep for all these years, so that when clint and the others come back, he's gonna have a few physical years on clint again. his thought process is kinda like "i'd rather spent 20 years alone on a spaceship with the knowledge that clint is probably alive and i will see him again, than to watch him die of old age and keep living on my own for another 50 years". it's kinda stupid, but that's love for you guys.
so yeah, they travel through the wormhole, clint, tony, and [random fourth character] go down to the planet on gargantua's horizon, clint's convinced bucky's just gonna sleep for 7 years bc that's what sane people do, [random fourth character] dies, tony and clint have to stay down there an hour longer due to the water damage on the ranger, yap yap you know the deal, they go up again and BOOM: they've been gone for 23 years and bucky spent all those years alone and awake and looks 10 years older than before they left. many emotions for both of them "fuck yes clint, you're alive, i fucking missed human contact", and "jesus christ bucky you put yourself through this for me and" and "JESUS CHRIST bucky you put yourself through this FOR ME?????"
anyways, next stop is steve's planet. good news: steve's alive, bad news: the planet isn't a suitable candidate for a new world. the obvious new plan is to go check out nat's world bc it's quite literally their last chance. tony - now that they already "wasted" 25 years on this mission and found steve alive - really just wants to go back to earth tho and see morgan again. he knows that clint and bucky won't agree to that tho, so he kinda manipulates steve into getting on a ranger and flying up to the endurance again, leaving clint and bucky behind on steve's planet. don't be too angry with him, he just wants to see his daughter again, alright :,)
neither steve nor tony are exceptional pilots tho, (that's clint's fucking job), so they don't manage the docking process. bc this isn't a main character death angst fic, they don't die in an explosion like dr. mann did in interstellar, they just cause the endurance to spin rapidly, and then kinda float next to it in their ranger being like "well shit". clint and bucky come in with steve's old lander to save the day, and clint manages to dock onto the spinning spaceship (like cooper does in the movie) and stops it, and then talks tony and steve through the docking process on another point of the ship (the endurance, the rangers, and the landers all work the way i want and need them too btw, idc about accuracy when it comes to this kinda shit lol i just want them all to survive)
when they're all safe on the ship again, they talk it through. the endurance + 1 lander HAVE to go to nat's planet, it's the point of the entire mission, but clint's a self-sacrificing idiot, so obviously he wants tony and steve to have a chance of going back to earth. they load up on lander with enough fuel to take steve and tony back through the wormhole (they're not sure if the lander can withstand it, but it's the only way), from where it should be possibly to contact earth again, so that someone could get them.
clint tells bucky that they have enough resources and enough fuel to get them both to nat's planet safely, which is a lie, but bucky trusts him bc they're in love, man.
clint does the iconic slingshot-around-gargantua-or-whatever manoeuvre to give the endurance the boost it needs to reach nat's planet, and he also does the iconic "yeah, i'm just gonna load up one of the rangers with one of the robots (the robots are FRIDAY and JARVIS btw) and let it fall into black hole to hopefully gather some data, but then i also let myself fall into it without telling you beforehand" move, bc they need to lose the weight and there aren't enough resources for both of them.
he's like "this is paypack for your aging dick move, say hello to nat for me" and then he's gone. ouch.
then there's the whole black hole shit, with the 4th dimension tesseract and the data from the black hole that i don't really give a shit about rn tbh lol. the "solving the gravitation equation" problem won't be a huge part of the plot anyways, bc yes, it's an important factor to this story's universe in general, but i really just wanna focus on bucky and clint in the fic, so idc. it's all kinda happening in the background.
clint sends the data to earth in morse code like cooper does in the movie - tho idk yet if he sends it to a now much older morgan, or peter parker (who's kinda tony's mentally adopted son btw) or directly to tony, who made it back to earth safely. idk. like i said, doesn't really matter. the tesseract collapses, clint's gets picked up by stark station that they were able to build bc of the data he send them, all is well.
his slingshot manoeuvre around gargantua did cause another time dilation ofc (idk if i'd make it 60+ years like in the movie tho), so maybe tony's already dead when clint gets picked up by the station. due to slowed down super soldier aging steve's still alive and well tho, and they have a little chit chat where steve's like "go find bucky, clint, there's nothing keeping you here" and when clint tells him he should join him, steve's like "i'll follow, we all will at some point, but i promised tony to look after morgan" (who's older than steve at this point).
so clint steals a ranger (they're advanced by now, but not 100% cleared to do interstellar travel yet, but this is clint we're talking about and cooper literally did the exact same thing in the movie) and sets off to nat's planet.
it takes him a few years, but he gets there, and bc i'm a soft soft softie, OF COURSE both nat and bucky are still alive, already raising the first generation of the new colony (bc they obviously didn't know if they solved the equation after all). i'm not entirely sure how plan b in interstellar war supposed to work, like who would carry & birth the first generation?? but bc of the fact that they only put one woman on the mission, i'll just go with "they have artificial wombs" :D
and now they'll just chill there until the rest of old humanity joins them.
and idk, the thought of bucky and clint being adam and adam of a new humanity for a few years (bc nat puts herself into hypersleep on a regular basis being like "i cant deal with you two idiots for too long, i'm gonna sleep 'til these babies are grown-ups so that i can actually have some good conversations") just really does it for me lmao.
and they all lived happily ever after.
okay this was a long one, sorry, nobody's gonna read this post anyway lmao. i just needed to get it all out of my head bc i'm still not sure if i actually wanna write it or not. i feel a lot better now tho, maybe my head won't explode bc of this idea tonight.

Hi, how are you doing? I hope everything’s well! I was wondering, if you haven’t already done it, could you maybe do (if you want to) meeks being jealous? I just think he’d be so adorable and silly aaa
if charlie's the type to get possessive of you if he's ever jealous, i can totally see steven being the type to subtly hint he is?? he won't really directly say that he's jelous of someone up front and u can't figure out who that someone is like hello do i look like akinator to u (i'm just kidding i love meeks very much this is how i show affection)
small fic ahead!
"stevie, is everything alright?"
you notice that he's been holding your hand slightly tighter than usual the entire time you were watching doctor who, it was almost inconspicuous. if it were a different day, this wouldn't have been unusual. steven would be in close physical contact with you in any way, shape or form. but today, it just seemed.. off. like there was an underlying message to his actions. to a normal person, it would seem like steven was his usual self. you knew him better than that though.
"is there something on your mind?" you tilted your head and redirected your attention from the television to him. determined to figure out what was bugging steven and if there ever was a problem, offer him all your unwavering and undying love and support. "you know you can always tell me anything." you placed a hand on top of his, giving it a gentle squeeze.
he parted his lips to finally open up to you about what he was feeling, or so you thought. instead, he pulled you in for a hug and hid his face into the crook of your neck. moving his hands away from yours to place them on each side of your waist. steven would always do this as a last ditch effort to try and forget about the topic at hand or if he's too hesitant to talk about it, you weren't giving up so easily.
"you think a hug's gonna distract me from getting to the bottom of all this?"
"is it working?"
"slightly.. but come on!"
you felt him sigh against your skin, once again preparing himself to speak up. "nevermind.. i'm just being stupid." he mumbled.
"what?! you're not! what is it?"
"you promise you won't laugh?"
"i promise! unless it's actually something really funny and i won't be able to hold back my laughter then maybe i would. do carry on regardless."
"you don't like paul anymore, right?"
it felt like a light bulb suddenly lit up in your head, figuratively and literally, because now it all made sense. before you and steven were dating, you were best friends. you'd always gush about your feelings towards the guy you bumped into at a book store who also coincidentally attended welton, but that was ages ago. you've long forgotten about your history with him and just settled with being friends with him, nothing more. earlier, when you and steven were at the library, you saw a familiar face working at the desk as an assistant. you both had a small conversation and didn't really think much of it, you didn't know steven would feel this way.
"he was looking at you at a certain way and.. i know you love me and it's not that i don't trust you it's just that i'm scared i'll lose you and i can't help it i know this sounds really silly and i'm sor-"
"don't be sorry, you have nothing to be sorry for!" you cut his rambling off, "i promise, you're the only one for me, steven. the best lover for me! i wouldn't want anyone else." you held his face in your hands and kissed him, giving steven the reassurance he needed to hear, resulting in him clutching onto you harder and a sniffle from his nose.
"stop, you're gonna make me cry."
#then he'll try his hardest not to cry#so you try to distract him by asking questions about how his radio works#steven meeks x reader

Platonic Steve Rogers x Reader
Not my choice
(Steve realises the ex Hydra agent they've just taken in, isn't exactly the scary villain he expected)
Bucky was eating breakfast when Steve entered the main room of the tower.
"Hey, Buck. We have someone coming here today, Shield is sending her to us to determine if we can help her or she's too far gone and she has to be sent to prison. She was a doctor in Hydra, that's why I wanted to warn you. We don't know much about her or even if you two were ever in the same place. But, I still wanted to warn you." Steve said as Bucky nodded.
"Thanks for telling me, Steve. I don't really remember any doctors so I think it should be fine. Is she evil?" Bucky asked as Steve sighed and sat next to him.
"Well, Shield said she's cooperative. But, that's all we know." Steve replied as Bucky nodded again.
"I guess we'll see how this goes."
--
You were in the elevator with Steve as you kept quiet.
Suddenly you leapt forward and pressed the stop button, causing the elevator to halt.
He looked at you ready to fight before you backed away.
"I don't want to hurt you. I need to tell you something... And I know... I know you'll listen." You muttered as he looked at you in confusion.
"It's okay, you can be honest with me." He said as you felt tears in your eyes and nodded.
"It was me... I was the one who made the winter soldier." You whispered as he looked at you in shock.
"What?" He whispered as you wrapped your arms around yourself.
"I was the one that attached the arm, the one that would torture him with different serums and..." You trail off as you start to cry.
"I never wanted to! I never wanted to... They made me hurt so many people, I was so young when they kidnapped me..." You stuttered out as you cried and sunk to the floor.
"I was eighteen when they took me, they pumped me full of chemicals so I wouldn't age or die and..." You break down and cover your eyes as you sob.
"If I told shield they would've just locked me away! But I knew you would listen, please believe me." You cried out as Steve walked over to you and sat beside you.
"Y/N, it's okay. I beleive you. I know what Hydra is capable of and I can see how much you torture yourself for what you did back then." Steve whispered as you cried softly.
"I never wanted to hurt anyone, I wanted to finish university, become a doctor and maybe settle down with a husband. But, one day I went to my class and I heard screaming and gunshots, so many people and students were dying around me. They let three of us live... They needed young talented minds that they could use. They took me and two other students. I was so scared... And then when Shield took down Hydra I was so afraid they would see me as another criminal and lock me away for eternity." You cried out as Steve looked at you sadly.
Maybe you had lived for 100 years but he could see you were still just a kid, Hydra took you when you were so young that he knew your mind wouldn't have matured as much.
"Well, you're in a good place, sweetheart. We can help you here, you can have a home and anything else you need. I'll make sure I talk to Bucky okay?" He replied as you smiled a little and nodded.
"Thank you so much." You whispered, suddenly there was a loud noise and you saw the elevator doors being ripped open by a familiar metal arm.
Bucky ripped the doors open and looked in.
"You guys okay? Friday said the elevator was stuck." He said as you looked up at him in fear.
His eyes landed on you and you could see the recognition in his eyes.
"No..." He whispered before he backed away.
Steve quickly helped you up and you got out of the elevator together.
"Bucky, it's okay. I know you know who she is, but I can promise she won't hurt you." Steve said as Bucky glared at you.
"You're a fucking monster. You're the one that made me this way." He growled as he stalked towards you, Steve quickly shoved you behind him and shielded you.
"Bucky, enough. You need to calm down and we can talk about this." Steve said before he was shoved out of the way by Bucky.
The soldier grabbed you by your throat and threw you against the wall, knocking the wind out of you.
"I'm going to show you how much fucking pain you put me through, you little slut." He growled as he grabbed you by the throat and pinned you against the wall, you gripped at his metal wrist as he choked you.
"I love seeing that fear in your eyes." He growled as you felt yourself begining to black out.
Steve tackled Bucky to the ground as you fell down and gasped for air.
Steve put Bucky into a headlock as you watch him slowly pass out.
Steve sighed and placed Bucky down onto the floor gently before coming over to you.
"I'm so sorry, Y/N. Are you okay?" He asked as you cried softly and rubbed at your sore neck.
He helped you stand up and you suddenly lunged forward and hugged him tightly.
"I'm sorry!" You sobbed out as he gently wrapped his arms around you.
"Shhh, it's okay. You didn't do anything wrong." Steve reassured you as he softly rubbed your back.
"What in the fuck happened here?" He heard Tony say as he looked behind to see Tony entering.
"Steve, did you have a kid while I was sleeping?" Tony asked making Steve roll his eyes.
"Tony, this is Y/N. The ex hydra agent that Shield sent to us." Steve said as Tony looked at you in shock.
"What! You're just a damn kid!" He shouted as you stared at him in shock.
"Easy, Tony." Steve said as Tony walked up to you and held out his hand.
"I apologise, it's nice to meet you." He said as you smiled and shook his hand.
"We had a slight alteration..." You muttered looking at Bucky.
"Look, it's not that rare around here." He said making you chuckle softly.
Steve picked Bucky up and placed him onto the couch.
"We just want to go through a few things, Y/N. And I know you're not a prisoner so we can just go up to my office and talk if you want? Instead of an interrogation room." He said as you smiled and nodded.
--
After you had done your best to answer all of Steve's questions you felt exhausted.
You sighed and rested against the office chair you sat in.
"Just stay here, I'll go get something to drink." He said as you smiled and nodded.
You sat and enjoyed the silence for a little while before you heard the door open.
"That was quick." You muttered before you turned around to see Bucky entering.
You paled and looked at him.
"Bucky... What are you doing here?" You muttered as you stood up and backed away.
"I love that you're afraid of what you created." He growled as you looked at him in fear.
"Please, Bucky. I'm so sorry." You whispered as he chuckled, the tpye of laugh that made you feel like you were about to be killed.
"Oh, she's sorry is she? Sweet little girl is sorry? That whole puppy eyes might work on everyone else, but everyone else hasn't seen the monster you are." He growled as he stalked forward slowly, you continued backing away until you hit the desk behind you.
You felt tears in his eyes as he stepped forward and held your cheek in his hands.
"Look at you, darlin'. Tears? All for me?" He taunted, you couldn't help a dear that ran down your cheek.
He chuckled and wiped it away before he reached up and grabbed your throat, you grabbed his wrist as more tears fell.
"Listen to me, sweetheart." He spat out as you looked up into his eyes.
"I do not fucking trust you, and as long as you're here I'm going to make your life hell, just like you did to me." He growled before you heard the door open again.
"Bucky!" Steve shouted as he grabbed him off you.
You choked and quickly scattered away from him as Bucky chuckled.
"See you soon, doll." He whispered before leaving.
Steve came over to you as you began to cry.
"Please, please never leave my side, h-he'll take any chance he gets to hurt me... He'll... He's going to..." You stuttered out as Steve wrapped his arms around you tightly.
"Hey, it's okay. I won't leave you, sweetheart. I'm going to sort all of this out, I'll make sure he doesn't hurt you." He whispered as you cried softly and enjoyed the affection and safety Steve was giving you.
"You're safe, love."

[Gakuen K] Yatogami Kuroh Route Translation
EXTRA Family plans
LIST OF CHAPTERS
[Translation under the cut]
Saya: (…Yesterday was a tough day. My father was terrified)
Saya: (But suddenly an airship flew over the house--)
Saya: (Everyone would be scared if their own daughter fell out of the sky…Kuro-kun was with me too)
Saya: (But I'm really happy that both mom and dad seemed to like Kuro-kun)
Saya: (As expected, I can't get married yet…I really hope I can marry Kuro-kun someday)
Saya: (Ah, there he is)
Saya: Hello again, Kuro-kun.
Kuroh: Nah. Want something to drink?
Saya: Uhm. I think I'll have a cup of tea…Huh, what magazine are you reading?
Kuroh: It's a family planning magazine.
Saya: …Family planning?
Kuroh: I'm looking forward to a future with you, and I'm thinking hard about it.
Kuroh: I have asked Ichigen-sama, he said it's good to have a girl first and then a boy.
Saya: A girl and a boy…Could it be…
Kuroh: Yeah, it's about kids.
Saya: We're not even married yet, aren't you being hasty…?
Kuroh: No, it wouldn't hurt to think about it. Building a house, I have to think about the number of rooms and so on.
Saya: (Eh….already that far?!)
Kuroh: "First a girl, then a boy". The first child is a girl, the second is said to be a boy.
Kuroh: I was said not to get caught up in the tradition, if a child is born, it doesn't matter which one.
Saya: I-I see.
Saya: (I wonder what kind of face the principal had when he was listening to Kuro-kun's story…)
Saya: Which one would Kuro-kun prefer?
Kuroh: Right…I'd probably prefer a boy.
Saya: Why?
Kuroh: Even when I'm not around, I have to make sure his mother is well protected.
Kuroh: It would be a good idea to have him learn martial arts from a young age and train him both mentally and physically.
Saya: Please refrain from Spartan training…
Saya: …If you were to get married, when would it be?
Kuroh: I suppose when I become a working adult, become independent, and have a steady income…I guess it will be 7 years from now.
Saya: Seven years from now…I wonder what everyone will be doing about that time.
Saya: Shiro-kun, Neko-chan. Classmates, teachers, senpais. I wonder what kind of life each of them will be living.
Kuroh: Perhaps, even after seven years, the free-spiritedness of Shiro and Neko will remain the same.
Saya: Fufu, I'm think that after 7 years they both will surely grown up, right?
Kuroh: I don't see those two settling down so easily.
Saya: But 7 years is a pretty long time…
Saya: (7 years from now…That's very, very far away, somehow I'm worried about it…)
Kuroh: What's wrong?
Saya: Ah, Un-uh. It's nothing. I'd like to see the magazine too.
Kuroh: Are you worried about whether you will still be with me 7 years from now?
Saya: …Just a little bit. Because something may happen and the happiness you feel now may suddenly be destroyed…
Kuroh: If it's about your ability, if anything goes wrong, it's just a matter of me to protect you.
Saya: But what if Kuro-kun will change his mind?
Kuroh: That's not possible. You know my character. I would never think about anyone else but you.
Kuroh: Same to you, aren't you going to change your mind?
Saya: M-Me too, I too can't think of anyone else but Kuro-kun!
Kuroh: …I'm kidding. We have feelings for each other, and that's all that matters.
Kuroh: From now on, we will spend the next 20 to 30 years together.
There is no time to be worried.
Saya: Kuro-kun…
Kuroh: I like you. I want to continue to spend time with you.
Kuroh: What about you?
Saya: I like Kuro-kun, too, and I want to stay with you forever.
Kuroh: Then it's okay. Whenever you feel worried, we can comfirm our match like this again.
Kuroh: No matter how many times you ask me, I'll give you the same answer. So don't hesitate to ask.
Saya: Uhm…I will.
Saya: (There was nothing to be worried about. Because Kuro likes me so much)
Kuroh: No matter what happens, I will be with Saya, I swear to protect you.
Kuroh: Let's live through the same time together from now on.

Before We Begin: A story from A Tav and Their Rogue Summary:
This is based on a HC I have with my own tav. That said, I did not write any gender or attributes in here so you can visualize it as your tav/you! Enjoy! I have a story i'm writing that's a bit of some smut but I needed to get this out there first. Just a convo between her and Astarion. the smut one i'll finish up and get out asap!
Read on Ao3
It was a lovely clear night at the Grove. Your party had settled in for the night and you went wandering around. The group had just made it this morning to the Grove in hope for answers. Sadly, there were none. Just another quest to find another person.
It had already been about two tendays since this adventure had all started at the nautiloid and you had grouped together others like you. Everyone seemed to have their own baggage and possible horror story to them. Bits and pieces would come out and just last night one of your companions was found out to be a vampire. You rubbed your neck where said vampire had taken his meal from you.
You walked down to the creek where you saw the bear earlier and came across Astarion look out toward the sky. He heard your footsteps and turned towards you.
“Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to intrude.” You smile at him and go to leave.
“You can stay darling. It would be nice to have your company.” He patted the rock he was sitting on inviting you over.
You walk and sit next to him. It was pretty close and you were unsure of yourself in this moment. This man had spent the better of the two tenday flirting with you insistently. It was maddening how much of an effect it had on you.
“I’m actually glad you are here Astarion. I wanted to talk to you alone.”
“Oh how scandalous. And what would our leader need with little ol me?”
“I need to know what your intentions are.”
“My intentions?”
“Yes. You have been the most horrific flirt I have ever been around and I can’t tell how true you are being about it. Or if you’re just fucking with me.”
You could tell this caught him off guard and that he was thinking of what to say. He turned to face you with the most honest look you’ve seen so far on him.
“A bit of both. You’re adorable when you flush and so it spurs me on.” He shifted uncomfortably. “I’ve not had any sort of relationship since becoming a vampire. So truth be told I don’t know what that looks like. You, however, make me want to find out.”
“I can live with that. I just.” I let out a huff. “I do like the flirting by the way. And I too would like to see where this goes. But you should know somethings about me first. If you decide then that it’s not something you want to deal with. Then we will just stay friendly.”
“Deal. Though I don’t think I’ll be delving into my own secrets tonight if that’s all right with you.” He smiled and moved some of my hair behind my ears.
“Oh that’s fine! We can find out more about each other going forward but this could be a deal breaker so it needs to be said first.”
“You seem scared of whatever it is. I’m a big boy I can deal with it.”
“You’d be the first man to do so if that’s the case. I’ve had many walk away.”
“Well out with it darling. It can’t be any worse than the potential of having tentacles sprouting out of your face.” He wiggled his fingers down in front of his face with a grin. You give him a small shove on the shoulder and laugh.
“I’ve got a kid back home waiting for me. He’s eight. He’s wonderful and smart. Of course I’d brag since I’m his mom but he truly is and I miss him so much right now.”
Astarion shuffles again next to her. Your face falls as you just know that again no one would want to come into a relationship like this.
“No wonder you’ve been such a good leader. You got that maternal energy going on. But you were really worried I’d freak out over this?”
“Everyone else I’ve tried to have a relationship with has. That’s why I didn’t want this to go further if it’s not something you can handle.”
“So no father in his life? No crazed ex lover I’d have to worry about?” He chuckles at the thought.
“Ah. Yes that’s the other thing. The guy who knocked me up was a scumbag. Lured me into thinking we would get married. Stole the dowry my family had and left me pregnant. I haven’t seen hide nor hair since he snuck out that night.”
There was a brief bit of silence between the two of you. He seemed to be mulling it over before speaking again.
“Well darling. As you can see I am not running away. I’m sorry you had a shit experience with other so called men. I can’t promise I will be the best. But I’d like to try.
“Really?!” You sat up straighter with a huge smile on your face. “Oh. There is one more thing though.”
“Are you sure you’re not deliberately trying to scare me off now?”
“No, no. I promise it's nothing like that. But before tensions get higher than they have been getting, I’m not interested in just jumping in to having sex with you. The bastard that left me was the first and only I’ve ever had. I’m not experienced in the least and I just want to take things slow. The idea of sex kinda scares me after that. I also really hate what motherhood did to my body. So I’m a bit self conscious. ”
“You are full of surprises! Alright darling I can understand that. Though it is a most novel idea for me to sustain from sex.”
“We just got to build up the trust between each other first. We can start like this.” You out your hand out to him. He tentatively reached out lacing your fingers together.
You both sit there like that for the longest time watching the stars. He walks you back to your camping area and places a small kiss to your forehead before leaving you at your tent.

Helloooo again (´∀`)!!
I accidentally missed the last update for Lost in Paradise, last week since I was busy with school, and only remembered to check today and gah—!
Firstly, I have to say I love love love the domesticity of this latest chapter; it’s a breath of fresh air from the tension and uncertainty of the last chapters. Not to say the tension was bad or anything, but augh, it’s good to see them all settling in as a big family and falling into a routine.
I also would like to mention that I really like how you portray Yaga! It feels whenever he gets brought up in other fanfics, there’s an air of resentment pointed towards him, but I feel yours gives some humanity and fatherly-ness that he has. Like yeah, he didn’t protect the trio as good as he could have, but unlike Gojo when Gojo became a teacher, he didn’t have the influence or power to butt heads with the world of jujutsu. Needless to say, it was pleasant seeing him show up again and the school environment—oh, I still remember the days of Gojo and Yuji riding the Rainbow Dragon in the school courtyard (*´-`)
Gonna cut myself off before I ramble for too long, but ahh!! Kenjaku mentionnnn… I feel you are cooking up something in the kitchen and I’m almost too scared to peek in. Are we going to enter the final arc of this fanfic with Kenjaku?
Anyway, hope you have a great day whenever you read this :D your fanfic always cheers me up, and I have a definite newfound appreciation for the weekly updates—I just finished a 12k word chapter and my brain’s gonna be cooked for a while. Can’t wait for the next chapter!!! ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡
Hello again!
Sorry for the late response, I've been super busy and haven't had the time (or mental willpower) to reply or so much as touch my computer the past couple days! I'm finally getting some days :)
I honestly love writing the domestic stuff (especially with SatoSugu being in love and their kids!) It felt like we all needed some normal family fluff, and I'm also slowly working on tying up some loose ends as I go. I just know I'm going to have so much fun with the sequel/ oneshot collection fic that I've got planned out for when the fic's finished. I've also been halfheartedly working on a no curses SatoSugu + kids fic AU, but I'm not sure when that'll see the light of day :D
I love Yaga as a character! I agree that he could've done better for the trio when they were in school, but I also don't think the blame falls on him alone. It feels like everyone (the students included) held him on a pedestal when he was just a normal sorcerer like everyone else, maybe even below most sorcerers at that. I love the fics where he's like a pseudo father to Satoru, so it felt like it would fit here. He's definitely got that hardass yet secretly a softie fatherly vibe to him, which makes him fun to work with (like Itadori Wasuke).
I do indeed have something cooking >:D Kenny boy is definitely one of the last arcs of the fic that I need to clear up, and I'm very excited to get it written and posted!
Thanks again for your lovely asks! I always look forward to seeing if one ends up in the inbox after I've posted a chapter! I'm glad you're still enjoying the fic!! I'll definitely check out your new update when I've got a second! <3

I believe in you fae! Stay determined!
After some effort, Ishi managed to deliver Gerson to the captain. He collapsed to the ground and transformed into a heaving mess of sweat and exhaustion afterward. His sister couldn't do much to help, but she patted his head anyway.
"Hello, there Undyne," The elderly monster waved, "How's life been treatn' ya?"
"Just fine," Undyne used Fae to gesture excitedly, "I've found our ticket out of here."
"Did you now," One of Gerson's eyes widened to inspect this 'ticket', "I never thought I'd see the day." He laughed a hearty, raspy laugh.
I was scared before, Fae thought, but now I just feel embarrassed...
Some will not see you as a person. More as a tool for their own ends.
I feel like a doll being swung around...
An accurate description.
"Ah, Gerson," Toriel's voice came through again, "I apologize for not keeping in touch."
"Queen Toriel," Gerson craned his head up to the phone. His head shook in the effort to do so, "Been a while since I've heard your voice. Where've ya been all these years?"
"I'd," the phone went silent for a moment, "rather not say... However, I would like to 'cash in the favor'."
Gerson chuckled again. Undyne tapped her foot impatiently. Each one jostled Fae uncomfortably. "I'd have to say that coupon expired long ago... But," Gerson pointed to the ground. Undyne rolled her eyes with her shoulders and put Fae on the ground. Gerson put his face up closer to the phone, "I'll do it 'cause I like ya."
There was a heavy silence on the other end of the call. A sigh could be heard. "If you would be so kind, Gerson..." Toriel continued, a hint of sorrow in her voice, "I would like you to confirm my identity for the people present there."
"I believe I've already done that," Gerson playfully elbowed Undyne's armor, "Wouldn't you agree?"
Undyne didn't seem to happy about it but she said, "Fine..."
"Now that it's been settled," The phone continued, "I would ask that you let this human be on their way."
"Yeah, sure, Queen," the disrespect was evident in Undyne's voice.
"I have your word?" Toriel prompted.
"Yup," the captain swiveled her head in an impatient manner. Fae could tell that she wanted to add something else, but didn't.
"Then I'll leave you to it. Goodbye, Fae. Call me if you need to talk again." With that, Toriel hung up. There was a moment of silence.
"Is that 'friend' of yours done talking?" Undyne voice was sly and intimidating.
"Y-yeah?" Fae put the phone back in her pocket, "So uh, I'll just get going now..." She shuffled past the two monsters to go further down the path. Fae tensed up in preparation for an attack. But there was nothing.
"You should visit my shop, kid," Gerson called after her, "Might have something useful to ya."
Fae turned to respond but found Ishi standing there. Facing the captain and elderly tortoise.
"You're planning on killing the human, aren't you, captain?" Ishi's voice was shaky but resolute.
"Well, duh!"

Diapers and Debts- Part 1
Diapers and Debts
By: Chrystal Wynd
*An age-regression misadventure.*
Part 1 (of 7)
"Jenna," said Max, "I'm here to collect."
I rolled my eyes. "Max, I know you want the five hundred dollars back that I borrowed on the gambling cruise, but I don't have it yet, okay?"
"I know, Jenna," said Max. "So you keep saying, but fine. In fact, I can live without the money. I'm here to collect the other thing."
"What other thing?"
"You know what other thing," said Max. "You promised me up and down you'd give me a blowjob if you didn't pay back the money when you said you would."
I shrugged. "Yeah, I said that. So?"
"So I'm here to collect that blowjob," said Max.
"Very funny," I said.
"I'm not kidding," said Max. "You promised. Several times, in fact."
I shrugged again. "Yeah, I did. I needed the money. It worked, didn't it?"
"You got the money, if that's what you mean," said Max. "But you haven't paid me back a single dime. So, I'd at least like to get that blowjob."
"I'm not going to blow you, Max," I said. "Yeah, I said it, but I was just kidding."
"No, you weren't," said Max. "My sister was there, remember? And she warned you at the time that you’d better not try to back out."
I laughed. "Yes, I remember," I said. "Your sister also thinks she's a witch, remember? Somehow her little warnings just don't scare me."
"You're twenty-two years old, Jenna," said Max, shaking his head. "You don't work, you don't go to school, you just use people to get what you want. When are you going to learn to pay your debts properly?"
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever."
Max shook his head once more and walked away.
*****
It was two days later when Max's sister Lexie found me at the spa.
"How about that," said Lexie, looking down at me as I relaxed in the warm whirlpool. "Isn't a spa day a bit expensive for a girl who can't pay her debts?"
"What can I say?" I said, warm water trailing over my bare shoulders. "I like nice things."
"Taking advantage of my brother like that isn't very nice, you know," said Lexie. "You could at least give him the blowjob you promised."
"I could do lots of things," I said. "That doesn't mean I'm going to."
"You're sure this is the course of action you want to take, Jenna?"
"You can go now, Lexie," I said, waving my fingers in a brush-off manner. "We're done here."
"Fine," said Lexie, reaching into her purse and taking out a stoppered bottle. "Your choice."
I raised my eyebrows. "You're going to drink something at me?"
"Not at all, Jenna," said Lexie. She closed her eyes and chanted softly for several seconds. When she opened her eyes again, they were completely black. "It's all for you."
Then she dumped the contents into the whirlpool.
I gasped and tried to scramble out of the whirlpool, but it was too late. The contents swirled over me. Then, realizing nothing had happened, I relaxed and my heartbeat slowed to normal. Determined not to let Lexie know she’d gotten to me, I made a show of settling back into the whirlpool.
"Nice," I said. "Is it perfumed?"
Lexie smiled. "I'll be going now," she said. "Just a quick word of advice. You may want to leave a key under the mat in front of your apartment. Probably before tomorrow."
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, I'll be sure to do that."
Lexie gave me a finger-wave and strolled out the door.
*****
By the time I got home, I wasn't feeling good. I doubted it was from Lexie's stupid 'potion' or whatever it was she had dumped in the whirlpool, though. More likely the whirlpool was over-chlorinated. I took two aspirin, stripped down to panties and a tee-shirt and lay down.
I didn't really feel any better when I woke up, but I was feeling something else. Namely, aroused as hell.
It was a strange sensation. I could feel the hormones racing through me. I was covered with perspiration. My hips were wriggling unconsciously. My belly muscles were twitching. I needed some serious release or I was going to explode.
I was too over-heated. I had to do something.
I let my fingers slide over my belly and down between my legs. They found my button and a moment later, my knees parted. Then I worked my over-lubricated pussy with unexpected heat.
My hips bucked and my belly muscles jumped liked crazy as I worked myself through a series of rapid orgasms. I caught my breath, then did it again.
Finally, I lay back on my pillow, exhausted. I was covered with sweat, but I had worked through the worst of the arousal. My heartbeat was just slowing to normal as I faded back to sleep.
*****
Two hours later, I awoke.
I still didn't feel great, but I wasn't as over-heated as I had been earlier. I threw the covers to the side and got out of bed. As I padded toward the bathroom, though, I paused. Something didn't feel right. At all.
I couldn't place it. My bedroom looked the same, but different. Everything was where it should be, but it still looked like a different room. What the hell?
I gave up and resumed walking to the bathroom. I still didn't feel good, and that was quite possibly the reason for everything seeming so odd. A couple more aspirin or perhaps some flu medication was possibly in order. My earlier heat may have simply been a fever.
I turned on the bathroom light and looked in the mirror. That's when I stifled a scream.
I looked like a twelve-year-old girl.
*****
I fell back from the mirror, heart pounding.
I was swimming in the over-sized tee-shirt I was wearing. My boobs had shrunk to little nubs and my wide, rounded hips had recessed until they were the same width as my waist. I had lost my curves. My face was that of a girl just beginning puberty. My hair was straight, reaching just past my shoulders. I was a skinny pre-adolescent.
What the hell had happened?
I forced myself to calm down. I had to focus on basics. Like the fact that I still had to pee.
I raised the hem of the tee-shirt and sat down. My cheeks colored as I realized I my pubic hair was embarrassingly sparse. It was further proof of what I had already suspected...that I had somehow regressed in age while I was sleeping.
I finished and washed my hands. Then I took a hot shower to give myself time to think.
What the hell had happened? Was this truly Lexie's work? And what the hell was I going to do? I couldn't just walk into a doctor's office and say, "Excuse me...could you grow me back into adulthood, please? And will my insurance cover that?" Hell, if I did that, I'd likely end up sent directly to social services and given a battery of psychiatric tests. They'd never believe a witch did this to me. Okay, yes, this was Chrystal Heights and weird things happen here all the time, but still...!
I was a bit calmer as I dried off following my shower, but only a bit. I was still a bit wigged out. Also, I still didn't feel good. In fact, I was exhausted. Of course, that was likely a product of my body's cells breaking down and re-forming themselves as younger cells, along with my bones structure shifting and devolving, but that was only a guess. Regardless of the reason, and regardless of whatever I decided to do about this situation, it was all going to have to wait until after I slept some more.
I dragged my skinny twelve-year-old body back to bed, grabbed my stuffed teddy bear and squeezed it to my body as I faded back to sleep.
*****
I woke up a few hours later, now a bit calmer and prepared to address the problem of my returned pre-adolescence. In fact, I knew what I was going to do. I was going to have to call Max and promise him another blowjob. Hell...it had worked once, right? He was a guy. This would be easy.
Not that I planned to give him this blowjob either, of course. But I definitely needed to sound sincere and I definitely knew enough to make sure his weird sister didn't catch me in a hot tub this time.
I sat up and was about to throw off the covers, but I stopped. Something was wrong. The room was...huge!
I looked around me. Everything was so big. Furniture that had been cute and lively was now big and blocky. Shadows were everywhere. My queen-sized bed was so wide now, I thought it was two king-size mattresses side-by-side. The end of the bed extended far past the little bumps in the cover where my feet were. The bathroom was so far away.
Heart pounding, I slowly pushed the covers off.
It was as bad as I feared. The only thing visible beneath the hem of my long tee-shirt was my little toes.
I had regressed further. Somehow, someway, whatever Lexie had put in my whirlpool was making me younger and younger.
I scooted to the edge of the bed. It was such a long way down. I took a deep breath and slid off the edge. I landed okay, but both feet caught the front hem of my adult tee-shirt, causing me to fall forward.
I got back to my feet, grumbling. Then I pattered off to the bathroom on my little bare feet.
Pulse racing, I realized things were getting bad. My little bedroom bathroom wasn't so small anymore. My eyes barely reached the level of the sink. I couldn't even see the medicine cabinet mirror. I had to climb up onto the toilet to use it, and my feet dangled as I did so.
I couldn't even reach the faucet to wash my hands.
I needed a mirror. I had to know how bad it was. I couldn't use the bathroom mirror, but I had a full-length mirror next to my bedroom door. That would let me see exactly where I stood. Throat tight, I waddled out of the bathroom and made the long walk to the big mirror.
I stopped just before I got to the mirror and struggled out of the oversized tee-shirt I was in. Finally, I took a deep breath and stepped in front of the reflective glass.
It was as bad as I feared. The little girl staring back at me was, at most, six years old. The cute, bewildered look on her face would have been adorable had I not known the little girl was me.
My belly knotted. I had to call Max now. If I waited much longer, I might not be able to dial the phone.
*****
I walked to my nightstand. I had to reach up to get my cell phone. My sleek, chic cell phone felt like a brick in my small hands. I had to hold it with both hands to make sure I didn't drop it.
I found Max's number and hit the dial button. I waited with bated breath.
No answer. Just the recording. Fine. I'd leave a message.
"Maxth!" I said, giggling. "I'mmmmm thmall! Don't wanna be thmall. You gotta fixth meeee!"
I stopped, blinking. What the hell was I saying?
I pushed the disconnect button. Where the hell did that little girl prattle come from?
I put the phone back on the nightstand. I couldn't afford to worry about it at the moment. I just couldn't.
Then it occurred to me that I was running around my room naked. Great. I'd been a little girl for an hour and I was already acting like a little kid.
I waddled to my dresser and tugged on my tee-shirt drawer with all my strength. Slowly the drawer slid out until finally there was enough opening for me to slip a hand inside. I grabbed the shirt on top and pulled it out.
It was a struggle putting it on. I just wasn't as coordinated as I was used to being. Even putting on a stupid tee-shirt was a lot of work. But I wasn't going to let Lexie win.
My head finally popped out and I managed to get my arms into the sleeves. I looked like a waif in the too-big tee hanging down to my knees, but at least I wasn't running around like a little wood nymph.
That done, the next order of business was something to eat.
This wasn't going to be easy. I certainly couldn't cook anything, but all cookies and crackers were well out of reach in the pantry. Still, I figured I could get something from the refrigerator.
Except I couldn't open the refrigerator door.
I pulled and tugged, but it held tight. I clenched my teeth in frustration and pulled as hard as I could, but the stupid door wouldn't open.
Then I remembered something and I scooted out to the living room.
And there it was, right where I had left it...a bar of chocolate. Perfect!
Getting the chocolate bar unwrapped wasn't easy. My fingers just weren't working right. But I finally managed to tear the paper off. It smelled so good!
Then I took a bite and my eyes widened in amazement. It wasn't just the sweet taste of chocolate that I was used to. It was an incredible explosion of chocolaty goodness in my mouth. I didn't just taste it on my tongue. My whole mouth filled with the heavenly flavor. My eyes closed in dreamy pleasure as I ravaged the rest of the chocolate bar.
I finally pulled myself up onto the couch and used the remote to turn on the television. I sat back to do some thinking.
Somehow I was regressing. I had no idea how young I was going to get. I had to figure out what I was going to-
Oh, cartoons!
I giggled at the antics of the animated cat and mouse. They were so funny!
Oh, no...commercial. Oh, wait...there were pretty ponies on the commercial! I hugged the remote to myself. I wanted a pony sooooo bad...
The television suddenly cut off. I had inadvertently pressed the off button when I hugged the remote. I threw the remote away from me and sat back, heart pounding, cheeks red. I had gotten completely caught up in a cartoon.
What the hell was I going to do?!
Then I remembered Lexie, smirking as she left the whirlpool...suggesting I leave a key under the door mat.
Grrrrrrr.
I struggled off the couch and fell on my rear end. I got back to my feet, then walked over to where my purse was sitting on an end table next to the front door.
I pulled the purse from the table, but it was too big for me to hold and I fell over backwards. I sat up and put the huge purse between my legs. Then I dug around until my little fingers finally found my keychain with my house key.
I tried to take the key off the ring, but quickly realized I couldn't. I stood up then and walked to the doorknob. Then I realized my next problem.
I couldn't reach the deadbolt.
I stomped my little bare foot, but that didn't help. Finally I walked to the dining room and grabbed one of the chairs. I pulled the chair and it slid a short distance. I pulled again and again it slid a short distance.
I stomped my foot again. This was going to take forever. But it had to be done.
Eventually I managed to pull the chair allllllll the way to the door. I was so tired. But I had done it.
I climbed onto the chair and stood on my tippie-toes, stretching. I managed to open the deadbolt and undo the chain. Then I climbed down from the chair and pulled the chair away from the door.
I looked both ways and didn't see anybody, so I popped out quickly and stuck the keychain under the mat. Then I scooted back inside and quickly locked the door. Finally, I dragged myself back to the couch.
It had been a long ordeal and now I was exhausted. I knew I was seconds away from falling into another deep sleep. The last two times I went to sleep, I had woken several years younger than when I had fallen asleep. I was barely a six-year-old at the moment. If the same pattern held, I was not going to be very happy when I woke up.
At least Lexie would be here later to fix me. With that thought in mind, I dropped into a heavy, youthful slumber.
